Recommendations: Anime to Avoid

I might sound like a noob but whats a 'fanservice' anime?

Fanservice is basically panty shots, tight tops and plenty of boobs bouncing around, all that perverted stuff.

bbbbzzzzzz wrong fan service is anything that pleases the fan, yes the cheap way of doing it is what you said but others way are by doing parodies, using famous v.a.'s for guest appearance, doing references to other series in a series etc. That's the meaning of fan service.

I've been buying anime that looked good on the box (big mistake) and I've regretted alot of my purchases, but I've seen alot of anime come out lately hence my thread. I think the really bad anime alot of people would agree that it's bad.

Bleach, Naruto, One Piece- they last forever and twelve days.

I double that say away from any long kinda serial manga series that got converted to amine.

Those are ones I can't stand but that's me I generally watch anything but one thing I do recommend bro is using wikipieda, an anime coming out called to aru no rail-gun and to aru no index from funmation license is something I DO RECOMMEND if you like science, espers, magic, relegioius fiction etc.

To all the people telling you to avoid Naruto, I have two words for them: Rock Lee.

This hardcore badass ************ alone makes the show worth watching, if only by searching out his fights on the internet.

Now, as for anime to avoid, I'd suggest staying away from Blassreiter. It's not at all bad, but it takes to damn long to actually become interesting, so long that the payoff really isn't worth it.

I'm surprised no one brought it up, but then again, I might be the only one who even tried to watch it, but Shuffle!.

Looking at the cover I though it was gonna be like Lucky Star with more Fan service, I'm not saying Lucky Star had brilliant writing but it was better then this dribble. Should have guess when I learned it was based on a Dating Sim and not a Manga. I mean for fuck sakes every girl is supposedly in love with this guy but they only seem sad or competitive about it when the plot asks for it.

Great if you want some anime Tatas on your iPod though, because to my knowledge this and Mahoromatic are the only things on iTunes with it, And as great as Mahoromatic is, the tatas scream holy loli.

play the game it's much better, the butchered as far as I am concerned due to the fact that no one i mean no one outside of 2 girls in the whole game want him that's it. Also there is harem end where he gets both pregnant so yeah suicide.

I would say that Gantz is, indeed, a very terrible anime and should not be touched by anyone that values your life. And while this may be controversial (or not), Neon Genesis Evangelion is not something you should even touch unless you're prepared to be raped in the skull and left a depressed trainwreck by the time you've finished the movie finale End of Evangelion. The new movie series Rebuild of Evangelion is less soul-crushing, from what I've heard but I haven't checked it out myself.

Bleach and to a lesser extent, Naruto.
Both were past the saturation of characters, and Bleach even forgot about some of them.
Plus they're unfocused and went down the whole "preparing for war" route at one point or another, just stalling and not knowing when the fuck to DIIIIEEEE.

And they're both generally kinda shit.
Good character designs though... they're both kinda pretty...
