I defined advertise because you said it wasn't advertising, however he is calling attention to his crappy clan thing, so he is advertising. And no, not every thread is calling attention to something. Most are calling for discussion, this is explicitly drawing focus to one particular thing.Ururu117 said:Isn't ANY thread calling attention to SOMETHING?Vanguard_Ex said:Apart from the fact that this forum is for us to discuss games and related topics, not for people to stick adverts into our screaming faces. It doesn't matter whether it's a product or not, we still don't want it taking up a slot on the front page all the same.Ururu117 said:Yes, but there is no rational reason to deny this. They aren't advertising for a product or anything, they are more or less asking people to come have fun with them. How exactly is that really "advertising"? It more akin to an open invitation.Vanguard_Ex said:In that case he can ask if anyone wants to play with him. We don't tolerate advertising and it's his own stupid fault if he didn't check up first.Taerdin said:A gamer who wants more gamers to play with? Can't have that on a gaming forum!
That is, unless your group is going to put the word 'Escapist' in its name somewhere, then its perfectly 100% acceptable!
