Comparing a Playstation 2 first person shooter to a current generation 3D action game is pretty unfair TBH.

Red Faction, by the way.
I would imagine he means the new 360 release Red Faction: Guerrilla.
I would imagine the OP is too.
I would imagine I was referring to the OP

well actually you cant just do the story missions. you have to play through random guerilla actions or just blow up shit until you can do the final mission.
im pretty much alone on this, but my vote goes to red faction for a good, if predictable, story and great deconstruction abilities.

i like the innovative weapons and ive always been a fan of the red faction series.

Not alone on it, I agree. RF is the most fun game I've played all year, anyone who thinks its repetitive would benefit from using thier imagination to come up with new ways to complete the missions.

I got prototype and I hated it at first but once I got some of the stronger powers and every turn ended with me fighting 4 tanks 2 helicopters and countless numbers of zombie things and soldiers it got fun. Overall If you want a good idea, Prototype is Web of Shadows without Spiderman and company.

I have not played RFG so cant tell you anything about it except that you can destroy a building with a sledgehammer which sounds pretty cool.

I'm not involved in the Prototype vs Infamous war, but I just see prototype as being so freaking fun to play. It's counter intuitive...because most games (in this genre) are fun at first, and then slowly die. But prototype is fun at first and gets EVEN more fun at it goes along (weird..I don't even know WHY)

Well, I'm looking into these two, and my half arsed research has told me prototype has no multiplayer, so it looks like I will probably get Red Faction.

Prototype apparently needed more time in development.
But the release had to coincide with InFamous for whatever reason.
Surely they'd make more money if it was in a few months released when everybody had finished InFamous?

I'm not sure what you mean by "everyone" since inFamous is a PS3 exclusive while Prototype has the entire PC and 360 market to play around with as well.

But I do agree that Prototype could have done with a few more months of development to smooth out the rough edges.

Prototype looks awesome but with a couple of cracks.
Red Faction's not great but it's polished as hell.

I still haven't got tired of Prototype, it's like doing everything I've ever dreamed of.

Whatchu talkin' bout?

Red Faction: GUERILLA is the name.
Have you been living under a rock? Have you even played the first Red Faction? Did it have a "guerilla" after its name?

I honestly can't decide, I use those games for different purposes. I use red faction when I wanna see things go boom with pretty explosions. I use prototype when I want to see Manhattan in a state of complete and utter disarray and panic. Though if I must chose...prototype because of red faction's fucking ore taunting me with the fact that I still haven't found it all even after following the damn guide to every location. *Shakes fist at ore* I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE.
