Regarding pony hate

For me it's because

1. It's overly positive
2. It's a girly kids show
3. It's everywhere
4. It's an overused meme

If I see someone with a MLP avatar I simply can't take them seriously.

You sound like someone who has yet to watch the show. It merely has the aesthetic of a kid's show, its writing and subtext lends credence to this. Granted the meme's can be a tad overbearing and obnoxious.

I can understand why people hate it...

Some bronies tend to go a little bit overboard with it and I can imagine that would annoy people who don't like the show.

I try my best not to annoy people.

And some tend to go waaaaay overboard.

It only annoys me when people shoehorn ponies into completely random situations. I'll admit, I can't think of many examples.
But the one that always bugs me is when someone uses "everypony", or some such word. I don't understand why they gotta do that. What's wrong with "everybody"? Why you gotta reference that show at every last opportunity?
It' not a massive ordeal, I'm aware it doesn't hurt anyone. It just bugs me.

I don't really want to watch the show and thus haven't seen it, hence why I can't judge anyone for the fact they actually like the show.

Just realized my prejudice towards the show may have come from me not actually liking horses. Y'know, real horses.
Big slabs of muscle with the big-ass teeth that're always showing through they're crazy flappy lips. Ugh, they're weird.

There have been dozens of threads on this subject. You could have searched for them and gotten a ton of different answers. To answer your question, one of the reasons I hate MLP is becuase the fans don't shut up about it and feel the need to make tons of threads about it. Such as this one.

Don't hate on all the fans over a newbie not using the search bar, please.

When it started this place was flooded with it, there were like 5 or 6 threads on the exact subject of either "who's a bronie" to "Regarding pony hate".

Then with like 9 out of 10 avatars being of diabetes inducing ponies, it yanks on that last nerve like a certain video that was described in great detail to me yesterday, which I would tell you about but it would get me a warning at least!

Lets just say if I made about 100 clones to spam about rubix cubes and megaminx's, trying to get people into them and telling people how good they are, twisty puzzles would also get a lot of hate.

Basically, great that you love it but I don't want any part of it.

There is also a lot of hate from "it's for little girls and your not a little girl, so why are you watching it", which I am kind of in.

Its not really just for little girls, it was designed as a family-friendly show.
MLP has had a long history of being a show for little girls, but with Friendship is Magic, its become like the Powerpuff Girls- a cartoon with female protagonists, but fair game for everybody.

I think we can all agree that that is targeted at three-to-eight-year-old girls.

I'm just really disappointed that so few users seem to be aware that ponies have been an Escapist joke for longer than I have been a member...

That right there. I see this in random threads, that don't pertain to this show at all. It's just how they talk. It's annoying when you're trying to have a discussion, and a person replaces the word body, with pony every time.

Also the term bronie. It's weird. People are way too into it, it's just a TV show. I'm not even talking about the fact that it's a little kids show, it's a show. I hate when people are obsessive over one thing, and lately everybody is into this MLP trend. I kind of look at people who obsess over MLP the same as little girls obsessing over Justin Bieber or Twilight. Except instead of little girls it's often grown men. I don't hate it, but it annoys me when I see it everywhere.

Then there's all the people with pretty much the same pony avatar. I pretty much see everyone with a MLP avatar as one person.

Actually it was meant as a family show, to be enjoyed by families. In a family there is usually a male person.

Also to be honest the fandom of ANYTHING IN THE WORLD is annoying. Have you had a talk to a pokemon fan who loves the older games and say how you love the newest ones? Honesty, The whole ponies felt forced. It's gone to a point where there hardly any middle ground and can't just enjoy one or two episodes without people say "your a brony, go to the brony side" I can see the intelligents of the show but this is close to religion where the religion it self is fine but the extremists is getting too far from reasonable. It's not a bad show but broneies is getting out of hand.

Buy the way Hasbro's opinion is meaningless, the just own The my little pony franchise. They didn't make Friendship is magic.

Also yeah you're right, it was pretty obvious that the previous versions were made with girls specifically in mind. But FiM is completely different to the previous versions so i don't see how that matters.

This is my biggest problem with the haters.

Just because people watch shows with a young target audience doesn't make them pedophiles.

If I were to watch a show aimed at an elderly audience, would that mean I want to have sex with elderly people? No. And you wouldn't assume that it would either. You would think nothing of it. The media just saturates everybody's brain with fear of sex offenders and in return we get discrimination.

The only time I see Pony threads are when either HATERS or CURIOUS people make them. You guys WANT to hate on Ponies, so YOU bring it up. (the above statements are generalizations)

Those generations were made by completely different people. Its no Hasbro that makes the show. They just make the toys and hire people to make a show(commercial) for it.

This time the creators actually made something that's watchable by everyone.
