Why would I want to change the size for? What is it's purpose?darth.pixie said:What exactly are you confused about?
Ah, because if you delete all partitions, you need to make new ones, thus choosing sizes for them. Also you may want to have a partition for diverse purposes. I have a partition for games, one for software install and one for windows. They're all a different size.Carnage95 said:Why would I want to change the size for? I see. Thanks darth.pixie for the help including the rest of you guys above.darth.pixie said:Ah, because if you delete all partitions, you need to make new ones, thus choosing sizes for them. Well just $50 for the new drive .. and install it on that .. the other drive could be quite old, and have bad sectors .. who knows. Its usually easier to get a new HD than to try to diagnose problems ...benzooka said:How's that going to run you 50 dollars? You can remove and make partitions however you want anyways. Even then it's a long-shot.Antari said:Removing partitions can allow bad sectors to be reached if the drive is old enough and has them. Its a cheap 50 dollar fix for a new hard drive. That'd be my recommendation.
50 dollars will get you a new disk. If not 1 TB, then at least close.
They're consumables anyways.
Cause my friend is the only one using the PC besides me and our friends. Also he speaks mainly English. Moreover, if there was ever a problem I had to come fix, I will need to be able to read it.ultimateownage said:Wait, if his father only speaks Chinese then why are you making the PC use English?
Wow... I don't know what to say. Even my 11 year old DELL 4550 computer still works perfectly without any hardware errors. If that's the case, I'll have to tell him about it. I wonder what the hell he did to his computer.darth.pixie said:Damn...
That means that the drive failed or will fail shortly. It's from the drive itself and there is really no way to be wrong here. Since it doesn't mention a specific parameter, I can't offer more about it.
The computer may have crashed due to it before (if it was at system startup)
The only thing he can do is replace it.
