Ahh I remember that moment. I think every 'first day of the relationship' is like the best day of your life. Congrats! Well my current gf and I are approaching our 1 year anniversary and so far haven't fought or even disagreed; best relationship I've ever had

I finally convinced my father to see the error of his ways with love! He even saved me from his evil boss who tried to get us to kill each other, then tried to kill me when I refused.

I wish he hadn't died, though. I only got to see his face once, and by then he was pasty and bald from wearing that mask since I was born.

EDIT: Oh! Relationship Success Thread, as in, like a girlfriend? Well, I really liked this girl, but then she turned out to be my sister. I...still don't know how to feel about that. We didn't do anything we regretted...well, one kiss, but...hey! You know what, she's with my best friend now, and even though they fight a lot, I think they make a good team.

As long as your best friend doesn't have a large hairy buddy who only speaks in grunts, everything should work out fine.

And hey, at least you got to meet your dad. I was raised by my mom and had to design a computer program to keep me company. And I had to work at a garage from a very young age just to help my mom make ends meet. Then, some creepy old guy comes along and wants to adopt me, and my mom says it's okay. Like, WTF mom?!

I honestly don't understand the "asking out" thing.

Seems like a slightly more subtle version of declaring a woman your mate and asking if she's okay with that.

I wouldn't say that, for me it was more:
Me: I like you
Her: I like you too
Me: yay! Wanna go see a movie?
Her: Sure!
blah blah and so forth.

I don't think I claimed her. The only possessive language I've used since then is: my girlfriend, in the same way she uses: my boyfriend.

I don't think I claimed her. The only possessive language I've used is: my girlfriend, in the same way she uses: my boyfriend.

The recent usage of the term generally implies that two people (generally younger folk) have declared they are each others boyfriend/girlfriend; often without doing anything that builds emotional connections between them and entails holding hands and calling each other "baby".

I assumed that was what you meant, considering I've seen a great deal of that and less of the "asked her out on a date", conventional terminology.

But in that case: It's just a date.

My first one was a train-wreck. Went to a movie and sat in the dark and said nothing to one another. I have the ticket somewhere in a moldy shoebox...Long forgotten with good riddance.

I'm currently single and greatly enjoying the playful flirting of a few potential girlfriends. I'm in no hurry to choose one---I'm way too busy for a relationship right now beyond maybe a long-distance with a girl from out of state (since I'm on the Internet so damn often as a general rule).

I find that the old saying about "love finds you when you least expect it" is absolutely true. Just about all of my major relationships in life have been the result of that adage.

It does not make you a deviant it makes you that much more awesome.
