I will probably get this when i get some spare cash, but i'm using my cash at the moment for Red Dead Redemption :p
Heck yeah.
This does look interesting, but coming out the same day as Red Dead Redemption? That sucks.
I can only buy games once and a while, and Red Dead gets my money for sure.

But I'll keep an eye on this for sure. Who knows! It might be one of those 'Critics love it but it doesn't sell well so it goes to the bargain bin early, but it's a really great game' titles! Then I'll totally get it sooner then later!
That's awful. That is an awful sentiment, don't cheer for that. The worst thing I can imagine is a great game having terrible sales. And it happens way more often than it should (Psychonauts anyone?). Because then the studio doesn't make money, and then they can't make more awesome games.

As for Alan Wake, I've been very intrigued by the trailers recently, but I'm still not completely sold. I'll wait to see what people think of it when it comes out and then decide whether or not to get it. More than likely I will pick it up eventually though, sooner if it turns out great.

Well, to be fair, I wasn't exactly cheering for it. I was just saying it could happen.
Because it does.
And if it does, I'll be able to afford it sooner then later.

But I wouldn't hope or cheer for that. I love this industry! I want it to thrive!

Still not convinced on this. Definitely not getting it on launch as that moneys saved for Lost Planet 2.

But maybe when it's cheaper I'll pick it up.
Same here apart from the Lost Planet 2 thing.

It does look pretty interesting, and I love psychological stuff (books, films, games etc.) I just think that it may be one of those games that will try and do it well by adding new things but fail when it comes down to it due to some lack of insight or another.

I shall be keeping an eye on it nonetheless.

To be honest, I'm hoping beyond hope that Alan Wake will actually revolutionize game storytelling in the same way that the Mass Effect series has. We need better stories in games.

Let' see... 3rd-person shooter + spooky horror story + Nathan Drake. I'm kinda perplexed as to why this took so long to make.

I'll pass on this one; the story seems contrived at best. 'Course, my 360 hasn't even been turned on in a few months, so this might be a good chance to use it. Gotta keep my eye on this one.
Where'd you get Nathan Drake from?
The trailer. At 0:07 Alan looks like Nathan Drake with a hangover, and at 1:02 he looks like Drake from about a console generation ago.

Also, look at his moves. He shrugs off the impact of a several-hundred pound spool and jumps around shooting people in the face. Looks like Drake, sounds like Drake, moves like Drake. 'Sall I'm saying.

Looks like I'll just be waiting for the PC port.
... if they'll ever make one. I'll just go whimper into a corner until/if the PC version comes out. Trailer looks pretty awesome though, Alice looks downright evil.

No he doesn't sound like Drake. Not until we hear him make jokes like he's Jimmy Fallon :p

Also Alan is a writer...Drake doesn't strike me as the guy with enough patience to write even a 5 page paper...

I'd need a better shot at Alan's face, but untill I 1)get one 2)hear him make zero wisecracks in the whole game and 3) watch him not run around shooting people, he might as well be Drake.

Maybe he doesn't, but I can see it. Bah.

Sadly, that happens a lot, Looking Glass were probably one of the best examples of this. Innovated so much at the time, and sold so poorly.

I remember reading something about them still having the PC code on their drives or however they worded it. So it was a bit of a hint that it could still happen. Lets hope so.

Anyway, i've been following this for quite a while, and would definitely get the game if the PC version didn't get (hopefully) put on hold. And not just because of the concept, the trailers, and all that jazz. But 'cause it's being made by Remedy. I'm not one for brand loyalty, but i find that small independent developers that take their time usually put out good titles. I don't get my hopes too high, though, too calloused, but i have moderate expectations :)

Looks pretty solid from the trailer (not that that necessarily means much, it's a promotional item), it's worth looking into--even though I don't really play horror games.

Off topic: In case anyone was wondering (which I doubt that you were, but still...) the music was Chemistry by UNKLE. Now you know.
