I recently bought the game myself and had different POV. I purchased it for the Xbox360 and was disappointed. The graphics were ok, controls a little "ehh" and voice acting dodgy. The night scenes were so dark that do see anything you had to turn the brightness up to the point of washing everything out, the text(a primary way of communication to the player throughout the game) was so small I literally had to lean into the screen to see it. Now, I don't have a HD plasma jumbotron in my basement, so that might be the problem there, but if a game developer is making a game that requires a screen of that size or quality, they will be alienating a sizable portion of the gaming community.
I really wanted to like CoJ but every time I found something that might work, Candle's bow for example, the game would do something to break it, like make it pitch black while sending dogs at me in grass while expecting me to kill them with a bow.
I really liked the setting though. Post civil war Texas really is an untapped environment. Game developers need to try that more.
With a little tweaking, polish, and enlarged text, this game would be quite enjoyable. Until that time, it is a rent it at best.

P.S. good review though
