I recently bought the game myself and had different POV. I purchased it for the Xbox360 and was disappointed. The graphics were ok, controls a little "ehh" and voice acting dodgy. The night scenes were so dark that do see anything you had to turn the brightness up to the point of washing everything out, the text(a primary way of communication to the player throughout the game) was so small I literally had to lean into the screen to see it. Now, I don't have a HD plasma jumbotron in my basement, so that might be the problem there, but if a game developer is making a game that requires a screen of that size or quality, they will be alienating a sizable portion of the gaming community.

I really wanted to like CoJ but every time I found something that might work, Candle's bow for example, the game would do something to break it, like make it pitch black while sending dogs at me in grass while expecting me to kill them with a bow.

I really liked the setting though. Post civil war Texas really is an untapped environment. Game developers need to try that more.

With a little tweaking, polish, and enlarged text, this game would be quite enjoyable. Until that time, it is a rent it at best.

P.S. good review though

German? Cool.

For me, the voice acting was sub par but was salvageable with a good script (which was sorta, um, campy?). Neither quality on its own would condemn the audio but when the two combine forces, it just can't be taken seriously.

ok i totally agree that its a total steal for 10 bucks but toward the end the narrative began to fall on its ass. I also hated how they totally pulled you out of the game by saying "YOU CAN'T KILL INNOCENTS AND ANIMALS OR THE GAME WILL END! WE DO NOT TOLERATE THAT IN THIS GAME!" *thats an almost word for word* what is the developer, my friggen mother! When the consumer says jump they say "HOW HIGH" not "NO WE DON'T TOLERATE THAT". See without us their game will be being sold in a bargain bin after a week of its release... OH WAIT it was *i got on steam for 10 dollars*. The multiplayer is decent enough but i keep getting disconnected. I personally liked billy but whenever a stealth mission or that huge valley walk that went on for about an hour (of just wandering around a massive valley with no sense of direction) he was almost unbearable. Ray was a tad repetetive but i gotta say shoot a guy while reading a bible verse is unusually hardcore. Totally worth picking up but the thing where they openly shatter the 4th wall over shooting a rabbit on a hill to see if you can make the shot is just painful. Or shooting a horse to cause them to panic and save you sneaking through a bandit camp. Honestly guys, what are we? 7? But ya good game and good review
