I'm an active FFXIV player, a New York Jets fan, and a Chael Sonnen supporter. So believe me when I say: you people are taking this WAY too hard.

Why do people honestly think we are taking this personally? It's a video game forum. We talk about video games here then we go on our day. Most of our feelings on this are it's disappointing so we say it here then we go on with our day.

I have been a loyal fan and customer of yours since before you were called "Square Enix". In the last couple of years however, of late it has become apparent that your works have been becoming more and more terrible; The one thing that constantly reminded me that your companies talent is still intact has been your Final Fantasy Versus XIII project, but since the current news of it being cancelled has come to light I would like to take this opportunity to say that I as of this moment, revoke my Final Fantasy Fanboy status, and I would like you to know that I will probably never buy one of your games ever again until you release Final Fantasy Versus XIII or Final Fantasy XV or whatever its called now.

I don't buy Square Enix games. Why? I don't care for them. Versus was the only one that interested me. If that's actually cancelled then what happens? Well I don't buy their games. If it is true, Square can go ahead and stick a fork in the series. After how dismal XIII and XIV were, Versus was the only game left that could put Final Fantasy back on track.

It's really funny, because everyone has put up with all the shitty XIII-related games until now, praying that one day, Versus XIII will swoop out of the sky and save the day. I have no idea why, because what I saw didn't look that interesting.

Get focused on XV, Squeenix. You have about four Final Fantasy titles to make up for and your list of Western competition isn't getting any smaller.

This is probably a hoax. What better way to squeeze info out of SE than to announce rumor that clearly gives way to a specific reaction--namely how we're all reacting now. It's like a catch-22 for SE. If they don't respond to the rumor, everyone will think it's true. If they respond and tell us to wait, a lot of people will think it's true. If they respond and give us any sort of info--great or small--it's more likely than not false. If they announce that Versus will be appearing at TGS then we'll know that it's a false rumor.

Unless Kotaku themselves has a credible source for this (IGN just reporting on a Kotaku rumor isn't good enough) then I'll wait until SE gives an official announcement. Anything other than that is just premature worrying over nothing.

That would be a great marketing ploy .

1)Tell everyone it's cancelled .
2)Create an uproar
3)Secretly finish the game
4)Announce the release date 2 weeks before it's to be released
5) PROFIT!!!!!!!

Once again on the internet people exaggerate. Simply put what people say is a massive travesty on the internet can be translated into a minor annoyance. I bet those people you quoted are just a bit sad they won't get to play that game now then they will go on with their day and get other games and nothing else will happen.

Personally, I have a contact inside Bioware that told me Dragon Age III was canceled. Sound legit? It's about as legit as Kotaku sources.

I refuse to believe this, this has to be a hoax, this game has fucking promise and they are just kicking it to the curb? Fuck that.

I would only believe it if the SE shadow council of doom is commanding Nomura to move on directly to KH3,

otherwise this move seems abrupt and self-destructive.

It was, perhaps, for the best that FFvsXIII is cancelled. After all, I've been waiting for over six years for Kingdom Hearts 3, and the best I ever get are nothing but four handheld spin-offs, one of which was a remake of a cellphone game!

We've been waiting for six years, Tetsuya Nomura! Give us Kingdom Hearts 3!

I'd be hard-pressed to say anything that flushes 5 years of work down the toilet is "for the best".
