When people say length matters when it comes to sexual satisfaction, a tempest of rebuttal is heard that says it's how you use it and not the length. This is a philosophy that is shared by The Order:1886's director Dana Jan in an exclusive interview

"It's not OUR fault that that the game fails to live up to to the extravagant demands of our audience! I blame pornography for unrealistic expectations of game length. Nothing is ever as long as it seems and they're making it seem bigger than it is with fancy camera angles and padding" said Jan.

Jan further went on to explain his metaphor of how gameplay is the same as schlong size.

"My personal metric is that one hour of gameplay equals one inch. You wouldn't want a guy with a 50 inch salami sandwich; it's impractical, as are 50 hour games! A nice 5-6 hour game at full price makes a perfect package for our team. You can even fit it in a box, just like that one song!"

"Besides, we all know that gamers don't exactly have testicular fortitude. Maybe if they spent less time jerking it to hentai and spend that time on our game they'd feel better. They could never please a women because the only ones they know of are from anime, the f**king weabs" said Jan, as he held his hand for a high-five

Sadly, Jan was left hanging as this reporter believes that gamers shouldn't be blamed for wanting something bigger and at 60 FPS.

Of course, the question is, does it satisfy the ladies? What do the female escapists think?

Aaaaaah the gamers think its shit and so they are to blame?

Just like in a restaurant, if you send your food back because it is burned. It is all your fault for having too high expectations for a high prized meal. How dare you!

A full priced AAA game should be hold up to high standards and The Order Failed.

What about the several thousands of hours I've spent on mmos?

Kind of a disturbing image.

Ok. This is just sad. I know the game is pretty insubstantial, but I'm sure they worked hard on it.

That said however, you can't make a game, make it only about 5-10 hours long then spend 1/3 of it in cut-scenes and still expect people to like it. That's like making a movie that's all music with no plot, speech, characters or anything until the last half hour. Nobody's gonna thank you for it and all we're left with is an overly long music video with a bit of movie at the end.

No? I'm quite enjoying it. Same goes for my neighbour.

Well, clearly some people would disagree. Besides, all I'm saying is that his reaction is a tad unflattering.

EDIT:
I didn't mean to say the game itself is bad. Just that some people probably won't be too keen on having it being so short with a solid chunk of it not be actual gameplay.

Plus, I don't mean to say the game itself is bad. Just that some people probably won't be too keen on having it being so short with a solid chunk of it not be actual gameplay.
I've said this since the beginning: this issue was blown out of proportion from Day 1. It seems like a lot of people simply decided to hate the game before it was even released, and I'm willing to bet that the majority of people speaking against it are people who have not played it.

I'm not saying people don't have a right to *****. Not by any means. It just seems that it's kinda required these days for a high-profile game to be shot to pieces before it hits the shelves. I used to be highly involved in these matters (I work in journalism, and I used to work for a tech site as main editor for gaming) and you know what the end result was? I now feel like shutting myself out of it completely and just play what I enjoy. It seems like the hobby now thrives on negativity. Rarely do you see people saying they like this or that game, now it's just finding reasons to complain. It saddens me. I've been gaming since the mid-80's. Even the Console Wars back in the 90's were in good fun.

Sorry, I'm digressing a bit here...

I'm curious as to how everyone pronounces 'schlong'. You know that thread we had a while back where everyone (well, not me, but lots of people) recorded themselves so everyone knew what everyone sounded like? Could we get one of those in which people just say 'schlong'? I know a guy who knows a guy (which is not unusual, as that only takes two people) who could make a song out of that (but won't).
Without looking for that thread again (yet), I pronounce "schlong" as if it were "shlong". I'm sure that helps a lot =/

OT: You whip it real hard, lord of Tacos and only clean journalist in the gaming industry.

It's like "Shlong". It's a very soft 'C'. "Sklong" would sound too comedic, and we need to maintain at least a modicum of seriousness in the bedroom.

OT: I would have thought the inverse were true, but that shows what I know. I learned what I know of male anatomy from school bathroom toilets, guesswork, and the taunts of others.

hmmm... On the one hand it all sounds too big to take, on the other, it takes a lot to satisfy me...

But will a few inches more or less really make a difference? If it fits, it fits. if it doesn't, it just ends up sticking out awkwardly. Well, as long as it isn't too wide. that's just painful...

XD

Wow, I need a shower after all that... XD

I have to say, I like their candid choice of words here:

"Besides, we all know that gamers don't exactly have testicular fortitude. Maybe if they spent less time jerking it to hentai and spend that time on our game they'd feel better."
That's the best gem from a developer interview since Kojima's infamous quaalude-inspired feverish rant about the bondage-loving bikini-clad sniper.

Okay and now we are getting dangerously close to Gary's Incident Dev levels of idiocy. Cool it down guys, you're an AAA studio, you can't afford to have such a public meltdown.

So, Persona's got a 100 inch dick? That explains a lot, actually. And for only $10.00!

Uhh, you guys know this is a psychictaco thread right? The guy that writes all the satire threads that start with REPORT and aren't actually true so the Order 1886 devs never said any of this. I don't want to kill the funny here, but I'd rather we at least cut the devs some slack for stuff they never actually said.
