Former Platinum Games CEO?s new studio to take lead on RE3 Remake?s story. [https://biohazardcast.com/resident-evil-3-isnt-only-being-developed-by-capcom/]

Could be interesting, as long as the gameplay stays away from what that studio is typically known for.

I highly doubt they're gonna have "RULES OF NATURE!"/Bayonetta moment. They can be subtle. Besides, most of the people from Platinum worked on RE2 (original), RE4, and Devil May Cry. Capcom is in good hands.

In contrast, the RE2 remake changes a lot, in that we're no longer at fixed camera angles, it adds respawning zombies and the ability to mangle them, plus Mr. X. True, Mr. X isn't a new addition per se, but the way he's handled is, considering that he gets to free roam the RPD. It changes the entire feeling of the game from the original in that you've got an enemy constantly stalking you, and you have to plan out your route to account for Mr. X plus the constant zombies.
Also, how about the fact that they turned a Boss monster from the original into a recurring enemy type in the remake. As soon as G-creatures started showing up randomly the sewers became 10 more dangerous than they ever were in the original game.
Not quite on the same level, but yeah. The G embryos are more intimidating and challenging than the spiders ever were.

Watch this. She brings up a lot details. Some, I failed to notice.
Those are some nice points, and I like her videos. That said, I will say that I much prefer Carlos's original look. Yes, he was a "pretty boy," but the look was still distinct, not to mention that he's currently the only Latin American character in the series. In contrast, his current look is far more generic - far closer to Chris than anything else.

Chris never remotely looked anything like current Carlos in all his depictions.

There's definitely a similarity there. Or at least far more of a similarity than there was before.

Honestly, I think some of these YouTuber's (not Sphere Hunter) are playing the "Carlos is green Leon/or Steve Burnside" revisionist crap just to be contrarian or not remembering the game they played. It's one thing to not like the character, it's another to exaggerate flaws or make shit up.

I have to agree with Sam on this one. They have similar military gear compared to RE5, 6, & 7 Chris, but Remake Carlos still looks distinct. If anything, Remake Carlos looks more like Garcia Hotspur decked out in military gear and grew hair like the protagonist from Oldboy.

Some more news. [https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/12/19/resident-evil-3-makes-some-big-changes-to-the-original] This must?ve been in development along side RE2 Remake in anticipation of it being a hit. There?s no way they?d be done with the game in under a year at that quality, even with some shared assets.

Gamespot [https://www.gamespot.com/articles/resident-evil-3-pc-pre-orders-are-25-off-right-now/1100-6472376/] spotted a 25% off preorder too. Also a good chance to catch up on the series for newcomers or fans that might not have all the earlier games.

It's the RE7 team that's working on it, so yeah. If you watch that developer interview, the guy on the left was actually one of the Sewer Gators guys from the videotape section in RE7. This also makes me more confident that the performances in RE3 Remake will have the same level of quality as in RE7. Because the only characters in RE2 Remake that weren't crap/boring were Marvin, Ben, and Kendo.

Speak for yourself, RE2Remake did an awesome job with all of the characters. Especially Marvin and Kendo.

So excited for this. I'll be on hardcore again so I can use limited saves like re2 remake. It's so much more tense and exciting that way on your first go. I'm glad there's no A/B scenarios in this because that was the weakest bit of the last remake I thought.

the original Resident Evil 3 did not have an A/B scenario either, so it wouldn't make much sense for it to be in a remake. There were still multiple paths or different paths you could take, that would change the story and ending. I hope they do keep that in the new version of 3.

I know, that's why I said I'm glad there isn't. I completed the originals millions of times.

Never mind, I misread the post.
