Resident evil 6?

Apparently if a Resident Evil 6 was made, it would take 8 years.
Think about it, Resident Evil came out in 1996, Resident Evil 2 in 1998, Resident Evil 3 in 1999, Resident Evil 4 in 2005 and Resident Evil 5 in 2009. And inbetween these gaps there was quite a few spin-offs, Code Veronica came out in 2000, Zero came out in 2003, Umbrella Chronicles came out 2007.

But that's ok, It'll still beat Duke Nukem Forever to the shelves.

So according to this if there are no spinoffs or films are released in 2010, there will be no more resident evil games.

All I've heard about Resi 6 thus far is that it'll continue the action-y path Resident Evil 5 has taken, forsaking its horror roots, and that if Resi 6 was going to be made, it'd be a 'total reimagining' of the series as a whole, as far as I've heard.

So, if there were 4 years between Resi's 4 and 5, how does that imply it would take 8 years for a Resident Evil 6 to be released. It's probably the most likely that they will release again on the current generation, so there wouldn't be as much time spent on the game engine.

So, 8 years does seem a bit of an excessive estimation if you ask me...

I personally liked 0, it at least had a partner that didnt stand behind you and let you get chainsawed because she/he was too damn lazy to move.

RE6 better go back to its roots or else Capcom will have to pull the plug.
