No one really cares Yahtzee. This is another old man yells at cloud complaint. I already this rant with SW's recent podcast a few weeks ago (not the whole rant, cuz fuck that), but I already get where this is going. I give 0 fucks and the tone of RE9 is not an issue for me, and most others, and will take it any day over RE7 and RE8. Their respective tones weren't bad, but they had more than a few silly moments, but I didn't care for them. Mainly 7. There is nothing "unforgivable" about this game. Freaking drama queen.

It's funny... Video games as completely artificial entertainment have the power to get around the character ageing problems of movies, but because players and their providers are so obsessed with realism, we get the equivalent of Daniel Radcliffe becoming too old to play Harry Potter. It has only been three months for Claire, but the model was fifteen for RE2 and is now 25. Graphics should generally become more stylized (more polished) as the hardware improves. Instead, style decreases. The original MGS3 faces are way better than the remake's.
If people like it, I am not going to stop them, and no one is forcing you to play the mod. You love making yourself angry and miserable.
Obviously, quite obviously, there is a bigger point in my criticism, which is all that we lose by having every other video game in this tired perspective. If this foolish mod removed so much atmosphere, then imagine how much many other games were diminished. I have played many games in which a button prompt for a point of interest appeared, like a lady shouting as I entered an alley in that medieval rat infestation game with the girl and her little brother, a lady whom I would have already seen had I come into the alley with a scripted, cinematic camera. The remaster of Until Dawn is also visually a far lesser game than the original thanks in large part to replacing the scripted camera with a standardized OTS cam. I know that a new Dino Crisis could never work because the obligatory OTS camera would overpower Regina too much. Either the dinosaurs become more bullet-absorbing machines than animals or it's another dino genocide action game like the useless DC2.
