Sweet. I see the weapon wheel and health...uh...wheel...make a triumphant return. And those graphics are pretty freakin' awesome, as well.

My excitement for this game just went up a notch.

It doesn't look anything like resistance 1 or 2.

Also, is it just me or does the reload time continue to get longer?

TANK! Run away! Oh, sorry, wrong game. This looks good. Glad I get my weapon wheel back, although it doesn't look like your health regens at all in this version.

Alas, I don't think Billy's coming back from that one. Still sad that Hale is gone and we're stuck with Capillie or however you spell it.

Well, seeing as we aren't playing as Nathan Hale who had the Chimaera dna to make him regen health and be somewhat super human.
OT: Looks purrty. I will definitely pick it up.

I won't lie, this really doesn't excite me at all. It looks more or less like every other game out on the market, and this is coming from a guy who put Halo: Reach in his Top Five for 2010, above Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect 2.

Goddamn, it looks pretty, though.

The guy we're playing as in the third game, Capelli, also has the virus. He was your team-mate in the second game, part of your squad that was made up of people with the virus.

OT: Monkey-Chimera was kind of lol-worthy, but the presence of a health bar and weapon wheel makes me a very happy panda. Gameplay seems kind of "meh" though, but thats probably due to the guy's play-style. Plus it looks like it was done for presentation, which would further explain the slower "look at everything" play-style.

Erm, the point is you put Halo Reach in your top five, which is why you don't like the look of Resistance :/ Self explanitory.

My issue with it is the brown and yellow, am I going to have to endure that colour palette a third time around? Other than that, it looks awesome. Wondering what Co-op features it'll have and if 2player offline is back.

If I could facepalm hard enough to compensate for this response my head would dislodge from my shoulders.

My point was that I DO like the look of Resistance 3. Hence, "Goddamn, it looks pretty, though".

I think you should facepalm, because its kind of contradictory that you say Resistance looks like every other game on the market (I'm assuming you're talking about FPS because I fail to see how this looks anything like Gran Turismo for example) then go on to say you put Halo into your top 5.

All that reads to me is "Halo was so damn good all other shooters look meh besides it", which is fine if that's your opinion, but before making that comment, give it a go. Otherwise I could say the same about most games. Yeah, it's an FPS, it would look like other FPS titles because....it is an FPS.

DAMN, I'm trying not to give into the hype, but it's really hard not to.

Near everything I can see is improved from the original. The animations have improved. The graphics/visuals have improved. The effects have improved. It's more brutal and brooding, which makes a perfect tone/mood for the game (good contrast to Insomniac's other works). There's a weapon wheel! There's a health bar! FUCK, man, this guy said it the best;

Looks like a good combination of the first and second game. :)
While Resistance 2 was a good game, it just didn't have that same spark that the original Resistance had. It got too generic (which isn't saying much now that I think about it), with regenerative health and two-weapon system changing the original's tactical feel to a more run-n-gun, soak-dem-bullets, feel.

Needless to say, I. Am. Pumped.

Well sadly, that's not my opinion. I'll be happy to give Resistance a go, but my point was that even as a huge fan of Halo (yes, I am aware of how generic the games as a whole are) Resistance doesn't excite me. It looks like every other shooter out there- Homefront, CoD, you name it. Then again, a big part of the reason I love Halo is because of the online functionality, which can be pared down into three separate pieces: Bungie's care for it's fanbase, the encouraged player creativity through file-sharing and Forge, and the depth of the online component. I'll reserve my judgement of this game until I see the multiplayer in action.

Looks like it combines the best bits of the first and second game in one package. It keeps on looking better and better. I really want this now...

Looks good. I'd probably get it though seeing as I haven't played the past two. However I'm feeling quite lackluster because its a bit like Killzone 3 though; it looks tight and solidly put together, but its brown, a second sequel and another FPS.

The interface looks fine and I am glad to see that it's looking like a successful combination of the first two games. However, there is one thing I am looking for this game to do for me. I want it to provide some situations where my constant strategy through the last two games of "Bullseye for tanks, Carbine for everything else." If it can give me some situations where this isn't the most reliable method of attack, I will be happy.

Edit: that new tank looks like a promising solution to my BE+C blues.

Wait a second, is that a Marksman with a fucking iron sight?
Also the Bullseye sounds boring now.

Still complaints aside its looks to be another much needed departure from cover based combat and its looks interesting enough to get me through the latter half of 2011. If its out by then. However I hope the only backdrop available isnt 'dust storm'.

EDIT: Like an old man in a cottage with an office block being opened on the opposite side of the road, im still highly suspicous of the 'improvements'. For example I couldnt spot the chimeran hybrids among the debris as well as I would have in the previous games. I did hear of a weapon upgrade system in this game, which could explain why the marksman has no scope.
