Return to the Mansion With Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition

Well, this has almost convinced me to actually buy RE5. Been wanting to see a version of RE1 with RE4's game play.

Of course, I'll still wait to hear if it's worth the cash after it comes out, but still.

In my experience it doesn't need to be, it just /happens/ to be that they're entitled to it.

Microsoft must have paid Capcom off handsomely to get these one-day exclusives.

Or it's just that they can one-up them since it seems to be pretty much a rule that PSN Content gets released Thursdays. I just can't imagine they pay money for an advantage on ONE DAY.

But anyways, i'm looking forward to the DLC. Maybe we could hope that there will be new Mercenaries Levels included as well? (just sayin', they could just use parts of the new levels, so not much work there)

Since when has Resident Evil been a PC game anyway?

Since September 30th 1997 When the very first RE was Put on PC. And since then every single RE game has been on the PC. Capcom was generally outsourcing all of their PC port jobs, and on occasion they got butchered, eg Devil May Cry 3 and RE4. Still, games like the origonal RE on PC had better textures and visuals etc. Capcom has gotten sick of the poor quality Port jobs of the people they outsourced to. So a little while back they made the MT Framework Engine, which is a PC based engine. And all of their latest games are actually made on PC first and ported to the consoles. Console versions get released first, and PC version gets released roughly 6 months later. Still, it's one of the reasons Capcom is climbing my list of favorite developers. The MT Framework engine is fantastic. It looks brilliant, runs super smooth, it's very well optimised. It's a good system that shows just why games should be developed PC first and ported to the consoles. It works very well that way for all systems, but not very well vice versa. I don't care if the PC version is released later or not. Anyway, in short, the answer to your question is, RE has been a PC game since the very begginng. Just like GTA and many other games. ^_^

umm, its not one day exclusives. microsoft only releases new content on wednesdays, while sony only releases new content on thursdays. thats all it is really.

Okay, here's something I didn't pick up on in the first viewing.

These two know what they're getting into. They're no strangers to Umbrella's shenanigans or Spencer's twisted architecture. They know there's going to be some nasty shit going down inside.

I got RE5 with my x360, never played it. I liked the earlier ones better. Seems like RE5G is a throwback to the old ways, might be fun to actually play.

That's a very good point. Jill and Chris need to start with at least Desert Eagles and Grenade Launchers, but then maybe they don't have access to that equipment for some reason ...
