Whatever. Have fun being manly while you shake your ass to "Poker Face" while making vogue signs with your hands for extra points. I'm sure you'll impress a lot of....girls.
Antagonize moar!

I don't have an Xbox or Kinect, and can't dance. So I suppose I'm safe.

Then again, Greg's freestyle makes me WANT to learn how. Maybe I should buy an Xbox and Kinect just to learn how...

Waiting for fans of this to be caught making fun of the Wii. In fact, how many of you Kinect players bashed Wii on a daily basis? Joke's on you.

I'm waiting til I can afford the PS3 move because I can use a controller and a motion cam at the same time. Wii+Kinect=Move, and I'm fine with that.

Incidentally, I like the Kinect and am only knocking it in jest, but 1. it doesn't live up to the (Molyneaux) hype and 2. I'm a Sony loyalist. Can't wait to see what Nintendo will do to keep up though...
I assume you will be purchasing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, then? Sorry to single you out, but that avatar was worthy of a mention at least.

On topic: Games should be about the games, not how you manipulate them. When can we stop focussing on the controllers, and start making some really good first-party games again?

In a way that was my point, about how all the people who complained about the Wii's waggle controls are jumping on the Move/Kinect bandwagon. Games are indeed all about the fun, and now fanboys have less reason to knock a fun albeit gimmicky mechanic. I love my Wii because it's fun, not because of graphics or gritty space marines, so now I laugh now that Xbox players are in the same league. The playing field is now level, laughably so since PS3 and 360 fans alike have complained about the concept since the Wii came out.

Also, yeah im getting ACB!!! I'm going to the midnight release if I can find the time, so I can get me some useless prizes and junk! I'm even playing the facebook game so I can unlock even more insignificantly minor prizes!
Someone commit me...

C. It's not a ballet princess simulator, it's a hip-hop/choreographed dance sim. And if you actually think that dancing is automatically "gay" (whatever you mean), then don't attend your prom... or clubs... or weddings. And have a pleasant, blissfully ignorant life.
If Dance Central actually contained dancing, this might be an accurate statement. I know if I ever get married and I see any idiots doing the crap you have to do to "play" Dance Central at the reception, I'm throwing their asses out the door. And the DJ too because what was he doing playing the kind of awful music you would do those things to in the first place. My wedding would have real music, not Rihanna talking about the "rude boy" she wants to fuck next over a looping cell phone ringtone or Lady Gaga mumbling incoherently with the exception of shouting "POKER FACE" every minute.

That's okay, neither can the people who made Dance Central.

I still think Joy Ride was a wasted idea... by the sounds of it Kinect Joy Ride is very ~meh~ experience... the original idea of a free XBLA racing game where you paid for better looking cars/stunt moves could have worked incredibly well.

Ahwell...

Still my brothers getting this for Christmas... I am so stealing it and having a go.
I'm looking forward to what Capcom and those crazy Killer 7 guys are going to make for Kinect :D

If all the Kinect is going to do with their motion control system is copy the Wii, I don't see anyone getting that into it. Casual gamers looking for a quick gimmick are going to just buy the Wii (which is better known for it's motion controls, already has a full library of games, and costs 199$ while an Xbox with the Kinect costs around 300$+ depending on what you get), whereas people into hardcore and/or console gaming probably either already have a Wii or aren't interested in motion gaming, and certainly won't want to pay 150$ just to play a Wii Sports knock-off.

Personally I was expecting the Kinect to incorporate it's motion controls into actual full length, narrative based games. I suppose that could be farther down the line, but it would have made the Kinect launch a lot more powerful considering the 360 fanbase was attracted to the console by a certain type of gameplay in the first place.

Indeed; I feel almost reassured that fanboys moaning about the Wii controls can finally shut up and continue playing whatever mainstream game keeps them entertained. It may have been gimmicky, but it was different, and unique. I also find it rather funny that most of the player that laughed at the Wii's remote and control scheme have inevitably ended up on the 360 and PS3 bandwagon for (hip-hip hooray!) motion controls. If you ask me, these controllers should have come out upon release, and they should have been viewed simply as an alternative. Don't like Dualshock 3? Use Move! Don't like Move? Use a keyboard and mouse! Oh, wait...
These controllers should be nothing more an alternative, if a player doesn't find playing with the standard controller as fluid and easy.

Slightly off-topic, but the Ezio in your avatar was enough to prompt me to ask. I preordered the Codex Edition for PS3 off Play literally thirteen minutes ago, and I can't wait two weeks for it to come out!
Even more slightly off-topic; I've joined Project Legacy as well. Have you earned any prizes yet? I've bought all of the territory and completed the missions, but I haven't received as much as a complimentary costume yet. Any luck?

Good to see the usual open-minded review. I guess it doesn't have enough appeal for us gamers.
You know... CliffyB said this on his Twitter...

Every non gamer (often girls) that I've said "hey have you seen this thing? It's like a wii but no controller" their eyes light up "NO WAY"
While this basically just showed that Kinect is exactly what I thought it was going to be and that I still won't be buying it, I've got to keep in mind that Kinect wasn't made for me.

I actually really want to play some of these games but I don't think they'll have enough lasting appeal to warrant the high price. With the possible exception of Dance Central, all the games look like (fairly high end) downloadable titles but they're being sold as full price retail games. If they made the games a bit cheaper, or packaged more of them with Kinect, then I'd be quite happy to pay the price for Kinect itself. At the moment though, I'm having to shell out £40 for each game on top of the price of Kinect which I'm just not willing to do. When (or if?) we get some games that are more on par with non-Kinect games then I might be more inclined to pick it up.

I'm sure John Funk danced to Funkytown as well as Greg Tito did...nice moves. I saw it in its demo force at the local Best Buy but alas I must wait as children practically lay dibs on playing and for as long as their parents let them so maybe tonight I can try it out. My X360 is in my bedroom which doesn't have enough room unless I move the bed to the opposite side and stand with my back to the wall. Maybe when I move to a bigger room I can get it.

Another reviewer put it best:

Kinect is the Peripheral to play Dance Central, it just comes with a bunch of extra neat features.

Because if you look at it the other way around... It gets depressive.
