I'm very sorry for my terribly tardy reply, I'm afraid I have been unable to use my computer recently, I hope that you can excuse me and get to read this.
So far apart from the minor glitches that 4 other people that I know who have the game over all three consoles such as characters getting trapped, items and characters not appearing, crashes that force a reset or even just reset the console and whole areas of scenery failing to appear,(my brother was most amused by this one, he went through a door in Hogwarts and entered a room that was nothing but an expanse of grey nothingness). 3 of us have been trapped under Prof. Flitwicks room, a dragon is supposed to throw you up and out of the room, but in many cases you just end up going up and down like a yo-yo till you have to reset the game. These are all relatively minor issues and annoying but not game killing.
However a friend of mine is on her third game save because in the "Tom Riddles Diary" level in story mode the blokes that you need to jump across a section got trapped and failed to appear. The only thing you can do is exit the level, which then fails to appear on the notice board in the Leaky Cauldron and effectively is a game killing bug because there is no way to re-enter the level. Her third attempt was thankfully successful.
I have got to 98.3% completion only to find that an item that should spawn in the Hufflepuff common room didn't,(I'm sorry I'm trying to be vague enough to help people avoid the problem but not to spoil the game) and it was impossible for me to collect the final red box and character I needed to enter the final level and complete the game.
With my second game I got to 99.9% completion, only to find that if you do the final bonus level you can no longer re-enter Hogwarts to do anything you missed,(in my case collect 1 character) as when you try from the Leaky Cauldron you just respawn at the entry to Nocturne Alley.
I know these seem like nit-picking because I was so far into the game,(in this it is rather like almost completing a 10000 piece puzzle only to find a few bits missing) but the glitches that occurred in my game so late may affect other games much earlier.
In over 30 years of gaming I did something I have never done before and complained, to be fair I got a prompt reply from the department that deals with these issues that was polite and sympathetic, everything that customer support should be. Unfortunately as my version is on the Wii they have basically said that there is nothing they can do.
I've looked around different sites on the web after doing searches to see if anybody had found a solution and it seems that my friends and I are not the only people to be having various problems with the game.
