I hate risk. Too fucking complicated, and this is coming from someone who loves science and mathematics.
Sorry dude, but complicated? Risk?ultimateownage said:I hate risk. Too fucking complicated, and this is coming from someone who loves science and mathematics.
Ok, that makes sense. Nothing wrong with it, but it just lacks the kind of longevity that something like Plants vs. Zombie has.Greg Tito said:Good question. We were actually just talking about this in the office. As a game, it does everything right. The campaign is funny and creative, the gameplay is interesting and the presentation is all solid. I gave it four stars because it is an above average game that I would recommend to most gamers. Our criteria for a 5-star game is that they are games that you should definitely own if you own the platform on which it appears. The kind of game that you are just dumb if you don't own or at least consider picking up: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/7149-What-Our-Review-Scores-MeanNot G. Risk: Factions is a small game that you can finish in an hour or two. There is replayability in the multiplayer and custom games against the AI, but I couldn't justify giving it 5 stars for that reason alone. It's cute, it's fun, but players will likely tire of it after a few hours. I could see playing a few matches a week, but much more than that will leave most players bored, unless they are huge strategy fans.
It's totally worth 10 bucks, but I don't think it's worth 5 stars.
Yeah this was my thought. I suggest our friend never google Axis and Allies, Arkham Horror, Napoleon in Europe or just about every other boardgames not manufactured by Hasbro.ultimateownage said:Sorry dude, but complicated? Even though to be fair, an added layer of (social) complexity lies in Risk in trying to convince the other players that it's really better for them to attack that other guy, because yeah you may win against me here, but I have 16 points of recruitment in cards (I swear), so then I will have to attack you, and he will win because we weaken each other, but if you attack him, maybe when you finish him you get his cards, and then...Slycne said:[snip]

You're right, that is a big aspect of playing Risk face-to-face. I kind of hope for that when playing Risk: Factions, that the AI will fight each other leaving me free to steamroll over all of them.Viruzzo said:Even though to be fair, an added layer of (social) complexity lies in Risk in trying to convince the other players that it's really better for them to attack that other guy, because yeah you may win against me here, but I have 16 points of recruitment in cards (I swear), so then I will have to attack you, and he will win because we weaken each other, but if you attack him, maybe when you finish him you get his cards, and then...Slycne said:[snip]

That maybe why I was usually entitled "wormtongue".
Doesn't matter which you pick. The toasters will win. They always do.GameGoddess101 said:This looks awesome... I do have a problem with it though...
How am I supposed to decide between an army of Cats or an army of Zombies!?!?! Oh game industry, you've done it again!!
See, I disagree. When the robots eventually rise and rebel, I believe ATMs will lead the charge...samsonguy920 said:Doesn't matter which you pick. The toasters will win. They always do.GameGoddess101 said:This looks awesome... I do have a problem with it though...
