Won't the owner of this thing get banned from Xbox live because of a moded console? That would be ironic.

Sometimes thousands of dollars worth of gaming hardware just isn't hardcore enough and you need a whole other platform in your gaming rig.

Are you a PC gamer with thousands of dollars just lying around collecting dust? If so you might be interested in Origin's "Big O" [http://originpc.com/thebigo-features.asp] PC, a rig that incorporates some of the finest technology outside of sci-fi movies, and still managed to find room for a liquid-cooled Xbox 360.

For just a smidge over seven and a half thousand dollars, you can get the entry-level model, which has a 4.0 GHz quad core processor, 6 GB of memory and a 2 TB hard drive. If you've got a little bit more to spend - and by a "little bit," I mean nearly $10,000 - you can get a monstrous machine with more cores than you have fingers and four graphics cards. You can also customize the system to better suit your budget, which is handy if you only have, say, twelve thousand to spend, rather than the full seventeen. All configurations come with the 360 though, and apparently you can run both at the same time - good news if you want to try and play two games at once, or perhaps two versions of the same game.

I'm not really up to date with PC hardware, but I'm pretty certain that even the entry-level system is overkill, and will be for years. Not only that, but the Xbox 360 is pretty much superfluous, unless you want to play the handful of 360 games you can't get on PC as well. But if you've got the money to burn, and quite like the idea of a PC that will probably be top spec for the next decade or so, then go right ahead. Just don't be surprised if it becomes sentient and wilful somewhere down the line.

Why do I get the feeling that thing is the size of a mini fridge? Seriously. I get the feeling that thing is freaking huge.

With the top graded version you could proberly play 5 nearly maxed out windowed games of crysis 2 and still have enough memory to play a game of solitaire whilst they load.

...not that you would want to
cookie for that truly epic referance

A...ha i see someone got my Reference.

For those people who don't know the reference. Its from the deline of videogaming episode 3 when the bad guy is talking to his friends about how powerful his pc is and that it could run 2 copies of half life 2 and play a game of solitaire. The video was make about five or six years ago back when half life 2 was cutting edge. My how times have changed even a average modern day laptop could do that now.

With 5 thousand dollars you've ensured that you can have a computer that will last you 'till 2025. You spend a thousand on a current generation computer then you use the remaining money to upgrade it.

Honestly, I don't know what these people are trying to prove. Who would be so gullible as to actually buy that machine?

Wow, what ridiculous specs. And an even more ridiculous price tag.
Still, you got to admire the cojones of it all..

"This one goes to 11! And it has a built in xbox 360!!"

And the sad part of it all is that there is hardly anything worthwile to play on pc these days. It's either ignored, or the platform gets shitty console-ports.

Oh sure, there are a few worthwile games for the pc out there. Some exclusives even, and a few games that still need good specs. But honestly, the days that all intresting / innovative games were on pc and you needed a good rig to run it all, it's just beyond all that.

So in the end, the pc is there for macho posturing of your system specs, and you get a 360 to actually play any games if you feel the 'itch' ;)

EDIT: and before anyone feels like flaming me for this post, I *am* a pc gamer and I really think it's sad that we get the shitty end of the stick. There are still tons of worthwile stuff to play out there, but you dont need that rig to play anything. There is hardly anything that comes out these days that needs a new rig to play, let alone one that is years ahead. I mean, 4 gpu's wtf?!

If it had a PS3 instead of a 360, it would make more sense (or possibly less sense depending on which way you look at it) because it had more games you can't get on the PC

Holy shit! I'd pick up one of those... that is if I had the kind of money required.
Me too, let's go buy some lottery tickets. With that thing I am sure I could run Pong with no lag at all. I could probably run a few versions of Crysis on full at the same time with that one...

You could build a rig that's equivalent to their 17-thousand-fucking-dollar rig for around... $3500ish? Something like that. Then spend 400 on a 360 Elite with a huge hard drive, and a gigantor monitor (or 3). Then spend the leftovers on hookers and coke.

Overkill isn't the word for that machine
Why do I get the impression that after a few months, over-heating is going to be a ***** to handle with it.
It won't overheat because when you turn it on, small tubes will come out of it and siphon your body off for coolant.

talk about a magnificant waste of money.

A decade of being top of the line? try 3 years, tops. In ten years, it'll be 400 bucks plus change.

17,000 thousand dollars?! For that sort of money I'd want it to be able to track the passage of a giant warship (say, the SJ Savannas or one of its 80 siblings) through hyper/sub/tastes-like-purple space and tell me exactly when it will emerge in earth space so I know exactly when to leg it.

Or failing that, make me breakfast.
