not exactly pretentious but while playing Guild Wars for 3 years, going through the newbie town in the second game, most of the new people chose the assassin profession, most of them had the same look as the next guy, and almost every single one of them had "Naruto" in the name somewhere.

It was quite amusing the first time I saw "You were killed by nobody" though.

How can people use names like this and not be ashamed to go online?

People who use xXx in their name are often straight edge (sXe) and xXx is a symbol of that. The same applies to a lot of people who put x[name]x in their name.

Also applies to Hardcore (HxC). I see that quite frequently.
