I would say playing against someone who beats you out of pure competitiveness...and screen-watching.

Marines and tanks in SC2?

I'm gonna be a bit crazy and say when you beat people too easily, and they get mad at you, even though you've been playing the game for years and they just started. Its like "Yes calm down you just have to learn...no you can't use Eddy (Tekken) or the noob tube (CoD)".

I would love a game where you get points for stylised kills, not just kills, or just some system which forces people to not revert to the easiest, and most unfair way of winning.

Perhaps submachineguns in general.

Fast rate of fire and unrealistic spread make them more useful than shotguns a lot of times and have such high power that they make both shotguns and assault rifles redundant.

And let's not mention that games like CoD have like 5 square meters of area and the inaccuracy of SMGs doesn't make a difference.

A lot of spawns. The MW spawn system has been broken for the past 3 games with no fix, in BF2 it is plagued by spawnkilling. But at least you can chose where you spawn.
The problem with CoD is the shotguns are made ridiculously weak.

In real life, a shotgun fires 9 pellets per shell where each pellet of size, weight and velocity of a 9mm round fired from a pistol or SMG. It is effectively an instantaneous 9 pellet burst and they retain their velocity similarly to a 9mm SMG. The shotgun spread in COD is also HUGE compared to reality. From the muzzle the pellets spread out only about 1 inch per meter. That means at 20 meters (70 feet) you can land all 9 pellets right in the centre mass.

Shotguns should be the most powerful weapon in the game. With way longer range, tighter spread, and more powerful. Also they should fire quicker.

Or is it that the SMGs in CoD are what are too powerful? In MW3 most of them are three-hit kills at close range. Now there is no consensus even amongst soldiers, lawmen and others who use guns on how many bullets it takes to put someone down (it can be either a single bullet or dump 15 rounds into their chest and they still go on chugging). So lets compare to the grand-daddy shooter: Counterstrike

http://www.schuzak.jp/cs-s/dmgchart.html

None of the SMGs can kill in less than 4 shots to the Torso, except the UMP and MAC-10 than can kill in 3 shots to the belly except if one is a chest shot. But with body armour (that I think EVERYONE buys) only 2 are less than 4 hit kills and many EIGHT hits to kill other than to the head.

Mid you counterstrike hugely favours headshots, with or without armour it does 3-4x the damage and even if it doesn't kill a headshot delivers a stun effect. Armour is vital as almost all the weapons are one hit-kill to the head without armour.

RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR

TF2, 95% ubercharge, A WILD CROCKET APPEARS!
Try this:

You're invading the enemy base with a heavy. You're killing everything. Then, suddenly, they're everywhere! Next thing you know, both you and your heavy die at around the same time and the last thing you see before that happens is the fact that you have 99% uber, and you were right clicking like a madman just before. That's happened at LEAST half a dozen times to me.

Anyway, in terms of unfairness in multiplayer, I'd have to give it to a little free to play game called Perfect World International. I play on a PVP server, but PVP isn't available until level 30. Here's the thing. All the high levels (80s - 100s) hang around the zones where characters generally get to 30, and they always go out of their way to one shot those people who just want to kill that fucking monster over there. They spend more time trying to fuck the lower levels in the ass than they do fighting people near their own level. My main character is a level 100 healer, but once I get the right gear for him, I'm gonna hunt down the assholes who like to kill the little guys >_>

Oh, and another gun that's just retardedly overpowered is the X-Ray sniper rifle from Perfect Dark. It zooms through walls, ceilings, and floors, and you hold down a button and it'll automatically seek out a target and lock onto them, allowing you to pull the trigger and kill them from anywhere on the map.
You're talking about the Farsight XR-20 and it was nowhere near as overpowered as you make it sound. You were a sitting duck whenever you were using it, and the secondary function where you lock onto the enemy moved so slowly it could be outrun. It was useless outside of 1v1 and maybe 2v2.
Yea but once it locked on, only luck could save you since the slow lock could be hurried along if the player can tell which way it's heading. The issue of being shot in the back could easily be circumvented with an ally keeping watch. I don't think any of the weapon were designed with balance in mind, which is probably why you could pick and choose which weapons were in a match. I really hated throwing knives, especially since the poison followed you between respawns. DY357LX dual wielded probably had a better rate of fire than it should have as well.

hehe I think the tank is far cheaper since we're talking about halo. Snipers I can dispose of if need be.

Yeah, balance definitely wasn't their main concern. A gun I really hated was the tranquilizer, not particularly overpowered, but very annoying. The N bombs were especially overpowered.

WoW PvP: Premade fc groups consisting of 5 healers. Rogues being the only class that can chose weather to take a fight or not. But I've stopped pvping, the amount of classes that has a slow/counterspell/hard cc has gotten out of hand, resulting in chain cc'ing til you cry tears of blood.

LoL: Good you removed dodge, now can you get working on critts so I can ever hope to counter build an ad carry.. Also the designer of the ELO matchmaking should be sent to a corner to think about what he has done for a good 2-3 years. I hope I don't even have to mention what atleast 50% of the community is like.

This is something that occurred to me recently but Team Fortress 2 has bot matches on the PC (I think...99% sure about this). It doesn't have bot matches on the console version, on the Orange Box (unless I missed it on Xbox Live Marketplace). This seems like crap to me, who can't really play games online. I can pop on Duke Nukem 64 right now and play in a bot match but there isn't a single shooter on my 360 (other than Perfect Dark Zero now that I think about it and arguably Left 4 Dead) that lets me have bot matches. It would greatly increase the replayability of my games and let single-players like me practice on those multiplayer maps for those times when the stars align and I can get online long enough for a match.

Yeah TF2 pc has some of the maps that you can play against bots. Unreal Tournament 3 for the 360 has bot matches too,& they're pretty tough on the higher difficulty levels.

The most "unfair bullshit" I put up with is the server team staking for Battlefield Bad Company 2 or BF3, hands down. 9/10 times what will happen on a server is all the different pub-star-clanners will migrate over to one team (or the "advantaged" team, such as Russian on a Metreo Conquest game) and proceed to farm. Should the tables turn, they will either Team swap or quit server. It'd be one thing if mister clanner took his lumps and a loss when the tides turn, but they will usually bail from the server if they face a tough fight.

To top it off, many "Elite Players" will act like they get a giant e-penis in the various forums of the internet due to a 2 to 1+ K/D or something, when most of those kills were farming a on 24/7 Metro map server where even my dog could get a 2 to 1 K/D with PKP spam, and because they cut and run when the chips were down.

I just read through 6 pages of comments, and I'm TOTALLY shocked that I'm the first to mention this. Seriously?

Anyone who played first gen knows that every game basically came down to "who has the best Mewtwo". (for the record, it was usually me, lol)

In fact, the entire psychic type was horribly unbalanced in the first gen of Pokemon. The only two types that were super-effective against them were bugs and ghosts... the former of which had exactly ONE damaging attack (that sucked), and the latter of which had only TWO damaging attacks... which were totally useless anyways.

And, lest we forget, the only type of Pokemon that resisted psychic attacks... were psychic Pokemon themselves.

And, of course, there's Mewtwo himself, who basically has perfect stats. Even today, 4 generations later, Mewtwo is STILL one of the best Pokemon in the game.

Unfair? Pay to win is the only thing that comes to mind. With most everything else it's usually not unfair, it's usually just people playing the metagame and/or pressing advantages where they can get them, regardless of whether it's considered "cheap" by others. But if the advantage is equally available to everybody to obtain then I see no reason to call it unfair.

I hate to say it, because I hate games where you have to buy the good stuff, but umm. If you have to pay to unlock stuff...everyone can do that. Maybe not everyone makes the same amount of money. But since those games generally seem to be on PC, if you can afford a computer that can run the game, you can probably buy some OP gear. Maybe take a while. But it'll get done.

Demomen.
Every,single,fucking kind.
They can kill you by complete accident, don't have to aim, have no damage falloff. and do monstrous amounts of damage if they are using the vanilla set.

The demoknights zip around the battlefield faster then scouts, instakill HEAVIES from full health. Have the same amount of hp as soldiers if they are using the boots. heal from taking ammo,of which they get 100 upon taking your weapon. AND pyro airblasting them does not help for me as they simply proceed to get a random crit with their magical bullshit Arabian sword.

The most annoying thing is that they are basicly "soldiers except better".
There is almost nothing a soldier can do a demo can't do better and easier. That's just so sad.

And thankfully, before they become terrors they need to get a small amount of skill.

In the LoL discussion I would say that the reason twitch was so OP wasn't his strong ganks at all. The reason he was overpowered was because one he got those kills he could wipe an entire team with ease. When his ult worked off a time instead of a shot count all he had to do was line up his shots and get 5 kills before his ult ran down. Now he only has six? shots or so that act as line nukes when before he had as many as he could get off in the time limit. His DPS is actually probably a bit higher since he attack speed caps so easily and the AD does him more good, but since its mostly single target now its far less effective.

The plasma gun in Tribes: Ascend for about the five days before they fixed it. Your hitbox for the purposes of that thing hitting you was something along the lines of three to four times that of normal.
But then they fixed it and I was happily doing well in Arena again. Still a bit of a pain to play against, but nothing so insurmountable as it was before they fixed it.

People who intentionally cause lag in CTF of the same game. Pathfinder comes in and grabs the flag under guise of lag and you don't even get told about it until he's teleported 1/4 the way back to his base.
The Plasma was way OP for a while, but I still have a huge issue (as a new player) with the Juggurnaut. Only class that can one-hit kill (with skill mind you) with the 2nd highest health. Every other class needed 3 or 4 hits. He needs a near miss.

OT: League of Legends has had the FAMOUS FIVE. The five champions that were so gamebreaking overpowered that every game was "if you have them, you win. If they have them. Queue dodge. If he is banned, you're fine"

#5 Release day LeBlanc
One shot capable on any champ starting at Level 6.

#4 Old Shaco
Lower cooldowns and higher damage on a champ still considered to be one of the best junglers in the game.

#3 Beta Heimerdinger
5 turrets. Nuff said.

#2 Release day Xin Zhao
Top players set kill records, as he was capable of 1 v 5ing your entire team.

#1 Beta Twisted Fate
His global teleport? 16 seconds cooldown on his E. His W? AN AREA OF EFFECT 2 SECOND STUN! His ult? GLOBAL SLOW AND REVEAL.
Throw in release day Vladimir as well. He was almost as bad as Xin Zhao... Almost.

Well, to be fair about the ad carries, they are meant to be your team's lategame. And they did nerf life steal at least.

I thought that Funday Monday was hilarious. Freaking Gaulzi is the most genius cannon rusher I have ever seen. Blocking in his cannons with pylons and gateways? Not something I would ever have come up with.
Admittedly, that must have been a terrible week for people not doing the fm.

Just spam that shit all the time and watch as your shields never go down.
Until you run into a Banshee and she just shrugs it off before insta killing you.
If you time it right, you also have to be the host, with an Asari vanguard you can still do it.
