Dear escapist's at some point we have all had a rival.In this thread i want you to descibe your current/ex rival and how he is different from you.Also tell as what the rivalry is about (geting better grades,gaming,geting a girlfriend).

I will go first-my rival is called misha and we are competing over who can be the most popular in school (damn him and his blue eyes,blonde hair and charming smile)Discuss and enjoy.

I guess the last I could remember was on WoW, this hunter who would try kill me and my guildies and we would kill him back(not at the same time ofcourse) One time it turned into 7 of his guildies again 6 of mine.

Well, i dont think i have any rivals, maybe afew people we want better grades than but i kind of dont care if i get worse than them

i guess my friend, one of the smartest people in our school. he's also quite athletic, but then again, so am i. i think at this point i'm mostly better at sports then him , but he gets mostly better grades then me.

I once had a rival, named Renee. He is the loudest and thickest person I have ever met who I LOATHED all through year 11. It wasnt until he asked my sister out (getting painfully rejected) that I began to resent him (as he resented me).

And t wasnt until late year 12 where the poop really hit the fan and we got into a fist fight (which honestly he would have won had it not been broken up by the teachers. The worst part about all of this was, that for my whole life, I've lived next door to him. D:

I've got a couple of friends who have acted as sparring partners, one with sharpened metal swords, the other with fists. But I can't really call them rivals, it was too fun lol

very whinny and he was constantly on the offensive. But the point of
the matter, that made me real intolerant of his behavior, was the fact
that he won as many debates as I have. I was not jealous of him, but I
was left confused how such a obnoxious debater could actually get so far.

I have an unspoken rivalry with a guy on my course. He believes that games should be made corporate and protected by layers of contracts before they can be discussed, let alone made (I believe this is called the "Activision Effect"), and I think that games are best when they're made by gamers who make something they enjoy.

I don't have enough of a social life to have rivals. Sometimes in games I'll be fighting against someone who's about as good as me and we're the best on our teams, but that's the closest I get to them.

Me and this guy once competed over getting a girl; effectively becoming each other's bitter rival. After a long and stupid tit-for-tat competition neither of us got the girl and it was just a big waste of time.

I've had various rivals in debates... But I think my biggest rival is one of my best friends.
Everything is a competition... Videogames, trivia knowledge, Warhammer, and even just living and being awesome. EVERYTHING. It's all good natured, though. I lived with him for six months, and even doing the dishes was a competition^^

I had a rival when I was like twelve, we absolutely hated each other for no good reason. This continued until I was fifteen when we got paired together for a research task and we became really good friends. We play online together like all the time and now I walk to school with him.
