Ron Jeremy Says Games Are Worse For Kids Than Porn

The natural reaction among most gamers will no doubt be to decry the opinions expressed by the world's most famous porn star as utterly inaccurate and misinformed, and while I do think that he's working from a platform of ignorance, I'm not quite as certain that the sentiment is entirely wrong. I wouldn't want my kids (the hypothetical ones, that is) playing Modern Warfare 2 [http://modernwarfare2.infinityward.com/] or becoming overly familiar with Ron's body of work, but is it really reasonable to say that one is significantly worse than the other?

Um... yes? Imagine you've got an eight-year old son. What would you rather have him do, play a video game where he kills pretend people, or watch a porn flick where what he sees is really happening?

Yes, this alone caused me to lose my faith in humanity. There are so many people like this that the world should already be run by them! Oh, wait..

More often than not people know what is an opinion and what is a fact, however there is little profit to be gained from demanding others follow facts.

This is just ridiculous and it always comes down to the same thing. Violent videogames and Porn aren't for children! Enough said. The problem is, people instead of realizing that maybe their negligence as parents allows their children to get their hands on both of them, blame something else. Oh, cause the developers are to blame! The rating system doesn't work. The developers make the game, the ESRB rates the game and puts a sticker on the box that says 17+. Of course people are stupid and well, I won't even get into the whole porn thing.

Neither are bad in and of themselves, I think that was probably the point he was making (that neither was particularly bad, but also that Porn was less dangerous for children, which I'm not sure I agree with).

Exactly. Neither of them have any negative effect that I'm aware of (except for the extremes of both genres), so it's a futile debate.

Porn is half the reason that the world is going to shit. And Ron jeremy has got to be the most unappealing porn star there evre was. He is coming off as as big a douche as the likes of Al Gore, Arnold Schwartzenegger and Paul McCartney.
