This is utter nonsense. Apple MAY be able to AFFORD buying out EA games but it's no where near that easy, the company would have to accept the offer.

Yeah, but i wonder if this (if it happen) could be a bad thing. I really tried for a hour and couldn't found anything negative about that... if you're like me and doesn't play sport game. I prefer to go outside myself (tho I seem to be stuck doing night job at the moment).

No, and beside, didn't Apple refined the notion of recycling the same piece of hardware and selling it full price to perfection. Not unlike the Madden series.

If this is real, there's going to be a huge change in the gaming industry. Apple will then have to compete with activision and microsoft.

Too many people simply won't buy their products because they'll be mac-centric. EA will lose an immense share in the market, partly because they'll lose the PC market, but under Apple's direction all their things will be prettier, bar far more useless, than their PC counterparts without some heavy modding and usually a PC emulator of some sort.


That's assuming it even happens.

I'm calling shinanigins on this. Apple is a huge corperation with zillions of dollars, but so are EA and Sony. EA publishes buttloads of stuff and owns a bunch of studios (including Bioware). Sony makes the PS3 and zillions of other electronic items. They're all corporate titans, pretty much equal in revenue. No way Apple has enough money to do this.

If a deal does go through and Apple buys one of these corporations I will genuinely stop buying from that corporation. In all seriousness though, it would be interesting to see all of the cross platform stuff apple does with Sony's console, however it is more likely they will just spend the entire budget trying to make it 1/3rd of the normal size and then sell it as a "magical" device

But in a world where apple did things that were in some way good or interesting, yeah they would make something like the zune music and video marketplace on the 360 and windows phone/zune devices, only for the apple audience (hipsters), then they would make loads more money and then my life would officially be over

I think it's more likely to be the other way around. Apple has recently applied for patients for 3D television technology, it wouldn't be a far stretch for them to buy Sony, a leader in television production, to help with this process. Just wait for a big Iphone looking TV called the iVision or some shit that will cost $5000 for a $1500 just for a slightly domed back that you never look at.

Sorry but Apple while extremely large and profitable could not buy out Sony and EA in one fell swoop. They might be able to buy a large stake in Sony or EA but outright buy them? I doubt it.
