Rumor: Del Toro Directing Cthulhu Film With Tom Cruise

Guillermo del Toro has a great visual style, but he's just not a very good director. Every movie of him that I've seen looks very unique and striking, but the acting and the story are always severely lacking.

And everything about the modern day Tom Cruise has become infused with his creepy, batshit-insane behaviour. I just can't suspend my disbelief anymore when I look at the guy.

Well..Tom Cruise is insane enough..but I'm still not excited.

If the movie is anywhere near as boring as the Cthulhu mythos, I will be skipping it for certain. Might be nice to see a movie that possibly redeems Tom Cruise to the modern public though, he's too good of an actor to lose work just because people think he's crazy.

His religion bearing similarities to the Cthulhu mythos might be somewhat responsible...
