Does Ubisoft's DRM actually work in your universe?

Woah, I said it was functional, I've had no problems when trying to play Halo 2, Fallout 3 or Batman.Aenir said:What kind of strange parallel universe do you live in?Megacherv said:Woah Andy...calm down...GFW:Live isn't THAT bad, at least it's functional

I know you said functional. My post still stands, as I've never once had it work.Megacherv said:Woah, I said it was functional, I've had no problems when trying to play Halo 2, Fallout 3 or Batman.Aenir said:What kind of strange parallel universe do you live in?Megacherv said:Woah Andy...calm down...GFW:Live isn't THAT bad, at least it's functional

Did I say fantasic? No...no I did not...
Well mine works perfectly, so I have no idea what you're doingAenir said:I know you said functional. I don't think so. Making it not break my computer and/or the game it's bundled to every time it tries (usually unsuccessfully) to update would be a good place to start. Have it not contaminate my savegames, or not provide one of the worst download store frontends, or not make my mouse cursor detach from it's actual location. I can't find any redeeming value, and I shudder when I see that logo pop up.Andy Chalk said:this would certainly be an interesting place to start.
If your not connected to the net and cant sign in, then the DLC for games you bought, such as Fallout 3 for example, you cant play the DLC you paid for. When I load up DoW2 there is so much crap that GFWL wants to do before it will allow you to play. The system is far too obtrusive.Radelaide said:I don't understand the rage against GFWL. It's like Steam, unless you've looking at it while playing a game it keeps out the way. Quit your bitchin'.
Well, that's similar to how Steam got its start. Just replace "non-gamer types" with "FPS fans".Andy Chalk said:The idea, apparently, is to gently ease new PC owners and non-gamer types into Live by building it into the games that virtually everyone gets around to trying sooner or later. Register a free GFW Live account, start building a Gamerscore by playing Spider Solitaire, meet a few people online and blammo, you're hooked. So the theory goes, anyway, and it sounds pretty solid to me.
