Woah Andy...calm down...GFW:Live isn't THAT bad, at least it's functional
Agreed....unlike Steam a.k.a. the steaming pile of software. LOL!!!

I am mixed on this idea. It is nice for the added Gamerscore but otherwise useless.

That's a pretty brilliant idea, actually, particularly with their other projects. Hooking solitaire and minesweeper into Live would be a great idea on its own, but it works out even better if they also provide linked versions on their upcoming Windows Phone 7 devices (as they demoed with other Xbox Live games). All the basic Windows games are well-suited for play on a phone, and that array of familiar games could be a strong selling point.

It's also a nice competitive move against Apple/OSX, who doesn't have the ability to offer this kind of feature. Easing older, casual gamers into a social gaming situation could make those games into a primary feature of the OS for them.

As an aside, I don't know if recent updates have cleaned it up, but Games for Windows Live worked pretty well while I was playing through Dawn of War II recently.

If that's true, my mom might get a higher gamerscore than I have...
With all the solitaire she plays...

.. and this is how you ruin all the simple games for those who dont have time to play anything longer.

THis isnt a good idea at all.

I have to say, I've worked in a call center, and I read this headline completely wrong.

-Live Support Coming to Solitaire and Minesweeper-
"Hi, thanks for calling Microsoft Minesweeper live support, for security purposes can I please have your Gamertag?"

"Yeah, uh... hey, uh... so I clicked on this box, then a bunch of other boxes disappeared and some of them have numbers on them... what do I do now?"

"I can definitely help you out with that sir. You're absolutely right, clicking on boxes is definitely what we have to do... a quick question though if you don't mind... do you happen to see the box at the top right with the 'x' on it?"

"Let's see... uh.. top ri- oh yeah... the one with the 'x' on it right?"

"That's correct sir."

"Yeah I see it..."

"Perfect, that's actually the secret box of 'win'... all you have to do is click that and no matter what, you automatically win the game."

"Okay so I just cli- hey wait... the whole thing disappeared!"

"Thank you so much for calling Minesweeper live support! Have a wonderful rest of your day!"

I haven't used a windows computer in a long time, but do they still have the pinball game on there? The one with the space cadet?

I'm wondering because if they gave that game achievements I would get them all... I BEAT that game.
