bastards, they should have done it as separate all pc, and all xbox servers, as well as joint serers
They could still do it on a level, just make it mandatory for pc'ers to use a joypad if they want to play against consolers, it would be a hell of alot simpler it beats trying to balance/nerf the pc version so both groups can play against each other on a level playing field.Jezzascmezza said:As a 360 owner, I'm glad that PC/360 integration never happened.
I'd probably get my arse kicked a whole lot more.
This is pretty much the same as saying the American military is only better because they have better guns.Take a group of PC only gamers and have them use a regular controller and let the console gamers use a mouse and keyboard-explain what how they work and let them get used to it for a half hour then start a match between them. My theory is that the PC gamers using a controller will be trounced and prove that it isn't skill that they have, but a rediculously easy way to aim.
I was simply saying to some of the users who would invariable say its a matter of skill.adamsky said:I thought that was exactly what Microsoft said.WilliamRLBaker said:and this has a single thing to do with skill? no it has to do with controls, PC users get mouse and keyboard, and console users get a controller..the KB+M is going to win in FPS games every time.
Because they forced the PC reticule to wobble, there was horrible mouse lag and the console version included auto aim. They had to force broken controls on the PC crowd just to make a level field. No wonder nobody played.Greyfox105 said:Hmm... funnily enough, when I played Shadowrun, I'm nowhere near the best 360 gamer... yet I could match the PC gamers move for move... I saw no advantage they had that I couldn't counter with ease.
But what do I know, I'm just a mediocre gamer, not one of the experts at Microsoft.
Still, could have been interesting to have more cross-platform play, even if it was just an added playlist option, so you can choose whether or not to play cross-platform...
Mine certainly had no auto-aim, I can tell you that much >.> I tend to disable it on games, as it just gets me killed, or ruins the games in other ways >.>BaldursBananaSoap said:-snip-

"Because of the lack of 'pixel-accuracy' with the Xbox 360 analog thumbstick, the designers have included an aim-assisting technology, which basically interpolates the player's movement and causes the reticle to stay over an enemy player like a weak magnet. In addition, FASA has implemented a feature which causes the cross-hair to expand during quick movements, thus lowering the player's accuracy, making it impossible to quickly turn and maintain accuracy, reducing the potential advantage of playing with a mouse.[7][8] PC players, who have a more sensitive control scheme, are able to turn significantly faster than their controller-using counterparts and would have gained an unfair advantage."Greyfox105 said:Mine certainly had no auto-aim, I can tell you that much >.> I tend to disable it on games, as it just gets me killed, or ruins the games in other ways >.>BaldursBananaSoap said:-snip-

*Hates auto-aim for the amount of times it gets her killed in games*
So they added auto aim to the 360 controls we knew that and it made sence as that was what everybody worried about overpowering the pc players. But i could go into a list on why consoles players have the advanatage over pc players and also the over way around but thats for enough time.As i still can nott see the reason why they canceled 360 and Pc cross network games as it was "unbalanced" for the console players.murphy7801 said:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadowrun_%282007_video_game%29Spygon said:That is utter bullshit i agree that both sides have there advantages over each other but me and my clan played shadowrun for a while and neither pc or 360 gamers had the edge. The real thing that i think that killed it was when you had pc gamers and 360 gamers on the same server the lag was crazy.
Would love to see it get tried in the future but when the technology worked properly.
Also could you really see Microsoft droppping consoles to support the mess that is games for windows.
Please read about the game differences they put into to level the playing field for the 360.
