You'd figure after the countless WW2 games they would've learned a lesson about being completely and utterly repetitive by going onto ground which has been tilled so much the grooves are like the Marinas Trench.

Nope, I guess not.

Seriously people, let's get together and make a game about oh...I dunno...The Boer War.

And America dropped two atomic bombs on Japan without good reason and made a habit of fire-bombing residential districts. There is never a "Good" side in war and WW2 was no exception.
It's true that there is no good side in war. But the atrocities committed by the Japanese - and the extent to which they ignore them to this day - are on a completely different level.
Also, dropping the atomic bombs prevented the need for a full-scale invasion of Japan, which could have claimed just as many lives, if not more.
Members of the Japanese cabinet were allready sending messages to the Americans trying to negoriate a surrender, which America completely ignored and went ahead and bombed them anyway.

Yeah, that's real noble and heroic.

I never said it was noble or heroic. Guess what, war isn't either of those. I realize there were no "good guys", however there is no denying that some countries were nastier than others in that conflict. Yeah, the Allies did some terrible things sometimes, however the Imperial Japanese Army did far more, and their government has yet to issue a formal apology for most of what they did.

Fuck Treyarch.

There are so many ways that they could make a game about the american vietnam war interesting, but they probably won't. All evidence so far points to them not having any imagination to speak of.
Have you played Nazi Zombies?
If I may interject:

Castle Wolfenstein.
I am talking about the gameplay mechanics, not the concept. IMHO, it's a better zombie game than Left 4 Dead.
I'm sorry, what?

There where zombies in left 4 dead?
I just saw a bunch of snarling marathon runners.

I'd love them to make a 'Nam game in the CoD series, I was saying this to a friend when I first came across the flamethrower in WaW, they've got all the mechanics in place now, to make a really good Vietnam game. I hope they do it.

You're being using a subjective argument, just because you believe that the crimes committed by members of the Japanese army were worse doesn't mean that definitively were.
I don't ever remember the American government apologising for something they actually had nothing to do with since they weren't in power at the time either.
