I was never aware the Wii wasn't HD. I've only seen it used on standard TV's.

I am looking forward to a new system. Better controls and games would be nice. I hope they deliver.

First off, I seriously doubt any of this

Secondly for all those who are saying they should lessen the motion control, that would seriously piss me off, the whole idea was miss-used this generation yes, but it still holds massive opportunities in making games way more interactive.

Thirdly, if it happens at all, it'll be another add-on, not entirely new system, and you'll have to hold 4 wiimotes, one in each hand, one in your mouth, and one between your butt cheeks

It's a new exercise game called "Nintendo Gang Bang Wii: Stop Crying you know you like it"

I don't think there's any kind of hardware trick Nintendo could pull that would get my interest. It's a mystery to me how they manage to pull such huge sales on outdated specs, atrocious design, and barely half the lifespan their competition gives a machine.

One problem with this: Wii is still on top of the world. At worst, their sales have only fell off when it suffered a dearth of new content (Nintendo's always had that problem), but when good titles did come out it was clear it hadn't really weakened. Except for the NES, which had a slower draw out a good couple of years after SNES, almost every Nintendo generation moved in when it's predecessor had slowed down enough for a mostly direct phase out. Gamecube was outright amputated to save the whole. Zelda was given a fancy revamp for release, but other unfinished games were quickly and (quite) dirtily ported.

Ow, my logic.

The Wii is only on top of system units sold and peripherals. Games for the Wii not called Mario Kart, don't sell for jack. It's a flop system, sold to a brief and unwelcome fad and it's sales dominance owes a lot to some numerical sleight-of-hand. Also N64 was buried by the PS1. Lest you've forgotten this, or are simply in denial.
First of all, at no point in my post did I mention the content because A) it's subjective, and B) it doesn't really matter. Whether you like it or hate it, quality and universal acceptance has NEVER been revelant in being a success. Why? The goal of being a success in a retail market is getting to people to buy your product, and most people would call selling more than any of your prior home consoles ever an unqualified success story.

Second, I also deliberately never mentioned any systems' performance because I was talking about how Nintendo handled their replacement when it was deemed their time. SNES and N64 both quietly fizzled out from support shifting away from them and were removed with nary a glance back. Gamecube, in constrast, was killed so immediately that Nintendo had not one but several unfinished games they later bothered to salvage for their current system when it became obvious that Wii was going so much better.

Ten bucks says it's the DSiXLSP, maybe even the DSiXLHDSP.

On topic:Maybe they took the technology in that mind controlled levitation thing to make mind controlled games?

It has taken this long for sony and microsoft to get their motiony peripheral components put together. Do not be surprised that Nintendo is hinting at launching something new while those products speed towards launch.

They are quite aware that if they drum up some real interest, sony and microsoft will have to devote further time and resources to playing catch up once more.

I didn't spend enough on the wii to make me worry a lot about upgrading to a newer system.

I hope it is a new "hardcore" console. Imagine Nintendo releasing a hardcore compatible device just as Sony and Microsoft are trying to be more casual. It would be just like them to do a complete 180 when the market is heading in a predictable direction.
