I take it you saw a three year old on the train and asked to play the DS for a minute or so and drew your conclusion from that one time alone?3LANCER said:NDS is a platform for Disney crap

Mornelithe said:Speak for yourself, I bought it, and Blu Ray rocks. Price was perfectly reasonable for what they were offering.Asuka Soryu said:They're stupid? They thought Blu-Ray would be so appealing to gamers, yeah, a 600$ console. How appealing.
Other than a lack of games that utilize it, I think Warhawk wouldn't be even remotely the same without Sixaxis control, and that games pretty damn sweet. So was Heavenly Sword for that matter, and I actually liked being able to control the trajectory of projectiles. They didn't add rumble, but they added Six Axis. (Yeah, Six Axis... when was that used)
BC was removed because of complaints, similar to those found in your first sentence. And yes, BC was worth it.They removed the backwards compatability of playing PS2 games. What a great saling point, it's slightly cheaper and it can't play PS2 games anymore. But they kept PS1 apparently.
Don't really have a vested interest in either stance here, just wanted to respond to a couple things you said. Overall, I think this is far more along the lines of what people were expecting when the Go was announced, only to be thoroughly disappointed. It adds dual thumbsticks, something quite alot of people have been vocal about. And opens up some new ideas with the rear touchpad. Peacewalker was effin amazing, so I'll keep my eye on the PSP2 for sure. And they made fun of the DS, wich to this day is still kicking their asses in the handheld battle.
I problem with the Playstation Portable isn't that it lacks good games.demoman_chaos said:I take it you never heard of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite or Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker?
I went to a biggest game store in my city, from more than a hundred DS games let's say 75 were Disney games, games with pets and similar crap they keep farting out each month for children that don't know any better. Mario and Zelda games are unusually rare, they had two Marios and one Zelda, each of them was 50 euros - twice as expensive as "kids" games. On the other hand, PSP games were in a minority (around half of the DS shelf) but a lot cheaper (average is 15 euros).Veldt Falsetto said:I take it you saw a three year old on the train and asked to play the DS for a minute or so and drew your conclusion from that one time alone?3LANCER said:NDS is a platform for Disney crap
I'm disagreeing because there is a wealth of great DS games around, but just like games for all consoles, you have to dig and search for the best ones, yes there are plenty of childrens games for the DS but there are plenty of adult games too, not to mention it's pretty much the only platform that promotes a point and click come back.3LANCER said:I went to a biggest game store in my city, from more than a hundred DS games let's say 75 were Disney games, games with pets and similar crap they keep farting out each month for children that don't know any better. Now, I'm not saying PSP is awesome beyond belief - it isn't. What makes me sad is the slow refresh rate of the screen, it's tendency to get dirty really quick and occasional frame-rate drops that I didn't expect from a console (hearing people that everything on a console runs buttery smooth at all times)
