Rumor: Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia Collections Coming for PS3

I want these for my PS3 purely because my disks for the PS2 versions are knackered and don't work any more and PS3 disks don't appear to deteriorate at all through use. Also the Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell series' were fucking awesome and they can only be better in HD with perhaps a couple of bonus features thrown in. I say go Ubisoft.

This is stupid, and by the looks of it, people are falling into the marketing ploy. They're going to re-release a game, for no reason, other than slightly better graphics? Thats bullshit, have they seriously ran out of ideas for games? No way in hell will I pay for this.

Hmmm... I wouldn't mind playing the PoP trilogy again. Well, definitely the first game. And I did enjoy Splinter Cell until Double Agent, though I was intending to get Chaos Theory with my 3DS.

God of War collection was $40, so is the Sly collection so most likely they will be $40, plus with an HD make-over and with all the games on one disc, it seems to be worth it.

Hopefully if this is true they will fix the audio problem on the PS2 version that made all the Prince's actions and sounds muffled.

In all honesty its a good idea for a few reasons

1. People may not have played them back when they were released (Ive only played bits of the PoP trilogy as my interest was somewhere between slim and none)

6. As with God of War, its always nice to see older games given the HD treatment as it shows the developers have not forgotten about them and want a new generation of gamers to experience and fall in love with them

I never played them (1) and would love to get the chance to, especially with an HD makeover. I recently rented the God of War collection (6) because I only had the Xbox and GC and instantly fell in love with the first title and wanted more. It's great because it allows you to get sort of a second chance if you missed these classics. With God of War, I never would have been able to experience that fun before because my PS3 isn't backwards compatible either.

Here's hoping they do more of these because they're just plain awesome. I often miss the last generation of games when it felt like you got your money's worth for a fun, original game that was not just 7 hours long with a shoddy multiplayer tacked on to compensate.

Hmm... it looks like everyone is jumping on the bandwagon after God of War... The only ones of these I'm looking forward to are the Sly Cooper HD collection (because it's Sly Cooper and if you disagree you're wrong... that's how the internet works) and the Shadow of the Colossus/Ico HD collection (if it even exists.)

Now, who kind of wants a Twisted Metal HD collection as well?

Good, also given your username would you suggest the Layton games? They look perfect for someone like me. All I fear is getting sucked in a losing all my money to their charm. What is there, 3 of them now? Hundred dollars quick if I'm not careful.
