Cabal Online is actually better, much prettier and totally free.

Guild Wars has the innitial cost but also free.

Runescape might be the best BROWSER based mmorpgs, but thats hardly saying anything.
Yeah, that's like winning in a swimming competition against 5-year olds. Sure, you won, but... I don't think you'd be proud of that. Or tell anyone that.

I played runescape when I was like 10. Looking at it now, I have no idea why, although recently they have removed the few things that made it bearable (For those of you that haven't played it for ages, the game quite literally holds your hand for everything now).

That whole game is based on farming, farming and more farming. And if you pay money, you get to do even more farming!

Ehhh...it was a decent time killer at work for a while, but honestly, I have much more fun posting and reading things here.

Yes, runescape is the best mmorpg. And that really should be warning enough. STAY AWAY unleass you like having your balls chewed off by angry worms in which case you are probably the right amount of wierd for runescape anyway so just ignore me.

Its the best browser based MMO around but then again thats not saying much. The game itself is not as bad as people make out - its yet another example the short-sightedness of general gamers - Runescape is not created for us, Runescape is intended for younger gamers who have just started playing - it was the first game I played religiously - its quests were varied and interesting with some difficult puzzles. The level caps were hard to reach and the game really made you feel like you had accomplished something. Despite these pros, the cons; such as the repetitive nature of the gameplay and the distinct lack of variety within items and combat in general made me give up the game after a few years.

Despite this I still look back on my time playing Runescape favorably.

You made a fantastic contribution to the thread with those 3 words... [/sarcasm] I mean c'mon people if your going to reply to any topic you could at least contribute instead of posting repeats of what other people have said or at least type a few sentences.

Haha yes, just yes.

It is really fun and addictive.
Well, like D_987 said - Game is for younger gamers.

Unless you are under 12, there is something disturbing with you.

Like that guy that by an accident wrote at Steam that he's 5. And he was distracted by an applesauce.

You sure you don't have applesauce on your monitor?

It had it's charm, and was probably a wonder to behold ten years ago (back when it was still mostly 2D). Unfortunately it has not aged well and the crowds have become increasingly moronic. I will admit that it did have one of the most diverse list of things to do in the game, which is something I don't see in big-namers.

Hehe... no applesauce here... I just think the game sports addictiveness since its better than just watching TV all day if your bored- leveling up is pretty fun and makes you feel a sense of accomplishment however small.

I haven't played runescape in a while though and yes, you find younger gamers play this. Maybe thats another good thing about it- less "fanboys" and less "wow - lol.z. i <3 [this game] 4 life and if you say anything bad about it i'll call you gay" kind of people. You know the typer? right?

Except that Runescape is found fun by people under 12.

Older people find better free games.

But I can honestly say it was the best MMORPG I've ever played. World of Grindcraft couldn't hold my attention for six months, let alone six years.
From what I played of it, runescape has just as much grind as any other MMORPG.
