I know I'm going to buy it day 1, just because Saints Row is my favorite franchise ever...
But I really am disappointed with this release trailer, no where near as epic as the trailer for Saints Row 3. Seriously it isn't that hard to make a trailer for Saints Row fans that would blow their minds. Just have Johnny Gat sitting in an arm chair sipping cognac and smoking a cigar, have him look up and ask "Did you miss me?". Bam, Saints Row IV. Done.
I can't even access any pre-order material due to my internet situation, and that would still make me pre-order. He was the best charcter in the series, why did they kil him?
The rumor is that while a signifigant majority of the people working on the game didn't want Johnny to die, but a trope in the Saints Row universe that is in each game that spurs on you the player is having someone from your gang die. Sadly, Gat got tossed into this position. Someone in the higherups felt that having Gat die would be good motivation for the player to get revenge on the gangs.
And considering there isn't a hint of the previous crew in the trailer/released art, I have a feeling they are going to murder off a good chunk of the previous crew as "motivation."

I aprove of superpowers and I aprove that the series get more and more over the top as it goes down, I do not aprove however is being pretty much Saints Row 3 again with Aliens.

That being said, I hope we get to pick our superpowers because maybe I want to shoot lightning out my hand while flying or maybe I want to punch a dude so hard that flies off into the air before getting hit by a plane or maybe becaming invisible and sneak attack the shit out of aliens with a giant dildo.
And if he could pick to color of our giant dildo that would be nice. (Want to pick a black one and name it "The Dildo of DOOM!")
CAPES. I want capes...

And some other minor things like to see what is SR3 canonical ending and see the characters of the game and of the DLC too, you know those things nobody cares about. (Just joking here, mostly)

Thing is though they killed off Gat too early, and off-screen at that. It just held no impact for me.

Errr guys, its just a Saints Row 3 DLC repackaged as a full price game...

I mean look at it, same graphics, same engine, same city, same clothes, same everything, IT IS SR3, just with new content.
To you and everyone else claiming this, I think you've all forgotten something: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/114093-Bilson-I-Already-Know-Saints-Row-4-Will-Be-Wilder

So you all have it backwards. They didn't take a SR3 DLC and expand it into SR4, they took a SR3 DLC and used it to expand SR4. There's a difference.

As for the rest of your post; so what? The CoD MW trilogy ran on the same engine with the same graphics and no one complained. Same city? SR2 used SR1's city so it was bad too (this is ignoring the fact you are assuming because [i/]we don't know[/i] the game's setting yet). Same clothes? Clearly you didn't look close enough. The outfit the guy wears at the beginning is new. So are the pants the kung fu chick is wearing at :10. The gun at :13 and the one at :26 are new as well so I don't see how you can claim everything is the same when half the trailer was showing new stuff.
Yes, but the game itself looks identical to Saints Row 3, as in it's literally the same game, at least with Saints Row 2 they changed most of the city and gameplay, and with Saints Row 3 they basically redid everything. With most sequels you build it mostly from scratch, this looks like they just copy-pasted everything but added new content in.
Plus, comparing it to Call of Duty isn't really a point in its favour.

Oh, I'm still buying it, its Saints Friggin' Row! But with sequels I at least expect them to change SOMETHING.

Man, compare that nonsense-laden catastrophe of a teaser trailer with the Saint's Row the Third original trailer:

Notice how the SRtT one sets the tone for both the serious and the outrageous, while this new one is...a trailer for a supervillain sandbox game? Well, I guess Yahtzee will be happy, but what the hell? I get that it's supposed to be over-the-top balls-to-the-walls shenanigans and mayhem, but it looks like they went ludicrous speed and accidentally left the coherency behind.

Which is not to say I won't get it, mind. I did love SRtT, and while this is very clearly at best a reformatted expack, I wouldn't mind more time running about with the Third Street Saints and their goofy antics. Though, for this one, can we give Shaundi her character back? She had a ton of it in SR2, but barely any in the sequel. Someone fix that, please.

It is just a teaser, maybe they didn't want to show too much of the entirely new areas? I mean, it was kind of expected that Steelport is back once the said they gonna add "Enter the Dominatrix" into the fourth game (and EtD was about 'going to a virtual copy of Steelport and wreck havok there to fight an alien' or something like that). It could be that the new area might not be finished yet so they couldn't show that when they made the trailer, who knows?

Can't wait to see how the developers' collective id runs wild in this one.

Maybe these guys should think about doing an Axe Cop game while they're at it. Oh god, Saints Row/Axe Cop/Dr. McNinja crossover. SAINTS ROW TEAM, DLC IDEA. THINK ABOUT IT.

I found Saints Row 3 surprisingly entertaining. I doubt I'll be buying it on launch but I'm certainly going to be looking into this title.

if I want Drama in my Sandbox-Gangstergame, I got to GTA.
Exactly. I think that's what most people are missing. I wouldn't say I'm a huge Saints Row fan, I played II and "The Third," and I liked them both.

But sometimes it's fun to just do crazy shit that couldn't possibly ever happen. This is what I want to see in SR4.
Only thing I'm worried about is rushed development and/ or less customisation.

Captcha: How are you

Very fine, thank you Mr Captcha.
^These.

I'm hyped. Maybe I'll try to do a Saint's cosplay after all for NYCC (a guitar case would be easier to get than a dildo bat, not to mention wouldn't nearly as awkward to transport).
Also agreed. I rather enjoyed the fact that I was in a classic Warner Bros. cartoon rather than a reenactment of New Jack City or Scarface. Nothing like beating someone to death with a giant dildo while screaming "PENIS IN THE FACE!" to get the day started. :D

Oh, I tried to be a random Saint at Magfest [http://magfest.org] earlier this year, but I think the lack of over-sized lavender sex toys hurt my outfit a bit. I tried to improvise with a lightsaber (and making an off-handed joke about it being the censored version [http://media.gamebandits.com/images/2011/11/saintsrowbatcensored.jpg]), but then everyone kept thinking I was Mace muthafuckin Windu [http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/5/57507/2646174-mace_windu_unleashed.jpg] in street clothes. :/
