Oh man, I just decided right now that I'm going to pre-order this tomorrow. I can't not have this game.

One thing; Does anyone know if there is going to be online co-op or anything?

Wow, this is going to be a serious GTA killer.

This- after 2 years of wanting to but never quite actually buying SR2 I finally got round ot it this week, whilst its as nuts as everyone says it is there have been moments of unexpectedly compelling storytelling- the Brotherhood missions especially knocked me sideways.
And another thing thats surprised me is how quickly I became attached to the various Saints members, especially my Boss who I almost instinctively started to RP- something Ive never done before, not even in proper RPG's.
Did you get it for console or PC?

I was thinking of getting 2 in place of 3 for now. I doubt my PC could handle 3 without an upgrade. The only concern I have is that the PC version has a load of bugs. Have these been patched?

No idea, it was made as a console game first so if you've got 360 or PS3 Id reccommend getting it on that over anything else.

I loved Saints Row 2. Being able to get tyre spikes and nitrous or hydros. Crazy over the top violence. Unlockable infinite ammo. So much stuff that had no purpose than to look cool. My cockney gangster in suit and posh hat. Shandi's missions pretty much all start with "well I slept with this guy and.......".

SR3 seems to have come from this thought "You know what, Saints Row 2 just wasn't batshit insane enough"

PS Also my other guy who ran around with an insane grin, wearing platform shoes, a floral print dress and a traffic cone on his head. Why? Because I bloody well can

GTA V? Nope.
SR 3? HELL YES!

I can't wait to put my hands on S.T.A.G's armaments.

I'm a little hyped up for this game, possibly a little more so than Skyrim, but the PC version of SR2 was nothing short of totally fucked up. This has made me wary of getting the PC version of SR3, as I don't wanna pony up the cash for a unplayable mess.

Seen this concern so much now. :p

Apparently the SR2 porting process was tossed at CDProjeckt or some other third party. The Third is being handled directly in-house so this shouldn't be as big of an issue.

Time will tell, of course, but regardless Steam already has my money. :3

When they were growing this game in the great gaming plantation they must have been drip feeding it with pure unrefined crazy awesome.
When the bud sprouted it looked like Professor Genki. Then it started smashing people with apocafists and shooting them out of cannons.

HYPER ETHICAL.

Hm... difficult to say, really. The established characters would be strangers to you, after all. But I guess if you aren't terribly worried about story (which the series actually has, albeit in small bursts, between utter and shear ridiculousness), you will only feel slightly discombobulated.

Saw someone suggest reading the wikipedia article, so here's that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saints_row

I enjoyed the first Saints Row. Really didn't care much for the second. General conclusion is that i just don't like something so ridiculously OTT that it's ultimately a parody of itself. I don't necessarily want the hyper-realism GTA IV was going for, but i don't want ludicrously stupid either. I want that perfect sweet spot that was nailed by GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas.

SR3 has pretty much flown under my radar (mainly because the SR series is one of those that I always mean to get around to playing but still haven't) but it looking pretty fucking awesome.

Quick q though - if I jump on this, will I miss much story wise having not played the earlier games, or is it along the GTA lines where I'll just miss some injokes?
You won't really be missing much. You may not recognize a few characters, but even reading a plot summary of 2 should be plenty.

OP: WHY DO DAYS TAKE SO LONG!!! I will be spending as much time in character creation as I would playing a normal single player game beginning to end easily.

The crazy stuff!
My fav mission from the second one is the one where you fight bad guys while stoned, ok there are more fun missions, but this mission and its dialog just stood out for me, even amoung all of the other wacky craziness.

Just been catching up on gameplay trailers, getting myself more hyped for the game, and bloody hell.

[HEADING=2]This game is batshit fucking crazy![/HEADING]

Set phasers for fun!

Man cannons? Beating dudes to death with a purple dildo? Jumping out of a flying plane, shooting up bad guys, then going through the windscreen of the same airplane!?

The pure unbridled fun I can see myself having with this game is blowing my mind.

So, fellow escapists, what are you most looking foward to in Saints Row the Third?
Don't forget that you jumped out of the plane to rescue someone. So you're rescuing someone in a giant clusterfuck of a shoot-em-up.

And one of the enemy gangs are freaking wrestlers. Pro Wrestlers. Hell yes.

I think my favorite part in SR2 was "Insurance Fraud". Watching your character pinball around, getting hit by trucks, and then "unfold" himself and do it all over again... That, and deciding your entire gang got to walk around the city dressed like ninjas. ("Wassup, my ninjas...?")

The whole thing looks like a lot of fun; I'm looking forward to meeting new characters, trying out the new videogames, designing my alter ego, and seeing how the plot turns out (I'm sure I'm going to enjoy smacking around what looks like a truly unlikable set of villains)... SR3 may be my most anticipated game for this year. (Sorry, Skyrim.)
