Saints Row: The Third Hands-On

Couple days ago I was saturating myself in Arkham City trailers and screens. Before that I was freaking out about how close Assassins Creed: Revelations is. Now I can't get enough of Saints Row 3 ... I'm so confused!
Right now I want to play this more than anything. I want to be back in Steelport with Gat and my gang!

I'm psyched for Skyrim, but I'm regretting my pre-order of it over SR3 every time a new Saints trailer comes out. Never played Oblivion, played the shit out of SR3. Almost feels like I'm betraying the game.

On the up side, It'll only be a month after release that I'll be able to pick it up!

I don't really need a respect system to get me to drive on the wrong side of the road at 90 while pulling crazy stunts. It's just a nice perk to get rewarded for playing as I do.

@the_root_of_all_evil: Volition recently put up a note somewhere with a picture of someone working on a PC version, with the caption: "We told you it wasn't a port." I'm pretty sure the PC version is being developed entirely on its own, and it's not actually a port. Which could be good, but to me Saints Row will always be a console game.

It was just the horrible port they did on SR2. Had it been done properly, that game would have kicked GTA into touch. As it was, it only rivalled it.

But things like using Ctrl and Shift to move left and right though. That's just derp.

Well, the GTA4 port wasn't very good either. But SR3 looks much better than SR2 for the PC, so I'm excited.

Only three concerns:

Can my Saint have glasses? (Because it was a bugger to get them in SR2)
Is it a Decent PC Port? (Because if it is...GOTY)
Did they really have to do the playboy bunny ad crap?(Seriously Volition...that's EA's dump)

OT: Every trailer I've seen from this game makes me want it more than I wanted it the second I heard it was being made. This made me want it more than I can explain. Volition, take my money now! Oh wait. I pre-ordered this months ago.

Is it a Decent PC Port?

Volition keeps saying how it's not a port and how every version of the game is designed for each system in-house. And they said it so many times it's kinda hard to keep the cynicism up. They just bomb it with all the good news. I actually think the game will be OK on PC. It better be, because I don't own a console.

It all looks good, but I worry that there might be such a thing as too crazy. I mean, Saints Row 2 was crazy, but it was still at least partly grounded with a story, characters, that kinda thing. So far Saints Row the Third seems to be a collection of crazy shit. Maybe when I play the full game all my fears will be put to rest, but I'm not setting my hopes to high.

Also, no gang, gun or crazy get up could replace how awesome the Sons of Samedi were.

Skyrim can wait as far as I'm concerned. Besides, the modders need to do their thing before I get it. SR3 however should be bat guano insanity from the start. Pre-ordered.
