Is it weird that whenever a famous individual dies prematurely from something like cancer it makes me incredibly aware of my own mortality and that i might suffer the same fate?

I didn't know the man nor was i familiar with any of his works, but my sympathies go to his family, friends and fans. It's always tragic when someone dies fairly young.
Tell me about it, the man was 16 days younger than me. If you're not familiar w/ his works then you should correct that. He was absolutely brilliant, IMO the only true contender to Hayao Miyazaki's throne

I just learned about his death yesterday, and I'm still in shock. I've only gotten around to seeing the brilliant Paprika, but to me it was enough to establish his clearly great abilities as an anime director. The world has lost a terrific director, and, from the various interviews I've read and seen since yesterday, a great person as well.

It's a shame, I really liked some of his work. Well Paranoia Agent.

R.I.P. Satoshi!
