All I hear from the presenter in the video is "$$$$$ familiar scenes from the movies $$$$$$$". Listen to the tone - he isn't even able to *pretend* there is something in this game to be excited about. Pure cash grab.

Shame. There is potential in Saw for a good game. For instance, a game about building traps.

The first film was really cleverly done, centred on the unfolding connections between the two characters who at first appear to be complete strangers locked together for some unknown purpose. I would really recommend the first film to most everyone.
Same here. I liked the first film, the rest were pretty much crap.
I'm with you guys.

Seriously, that video consisted of nothing but "Yawn". "Errr...uh...and this is the uh...pain meter...and this is a puzzle based mechanic pad-lock combination majig."

Is it just me or does Dev. Commentary always ruin the video?

Hmm.... looks like a cash grab, but if they're gonna add combat its probably gonna be like little Billy the puppets on tri-cycles going around laughing then exploding. BTW that laugh creeps me out. :p

Rehashing of old traps. I was disappointed by that.
I'm kind of confused though. How did Protagonist get the bear-trap mechanism off his head?

All in all, I'll probably rent it.

"Press X to severe a limb using a rusty cutting tool."

Is all I'm going to say.

These sort of movie-film things tend to be awful, so I think I'll keep my distance until it's been well reviewed.
You and me both. Good to see someone else who's on the same page as me.

maybe it will be the "real" condemned 2
what was wrong with condemned 2 (ignoring storyline)
storyline is the most important part of any game
Let's not forget that the first one was scary and the second one was silly.

I never beat the department store in the first game...

As for the Saw game, I doubt you can make a game about it fun. Half of it is people freaking out and dying.

The Saw movies were terrible. Gratuitous, sick and extremely wrong. I have never watched a movie series so pleased with itself. The only thing that could heal my consciouness for a while afterwards was watching Shaun of the Dead.

Movie licensed games are mostly terrible. Only Wolverine and GoldenEye so far have defied the rule, to my knowledge.

Therefore, this game will be ultra-terrible.

It should be something to see. The best way to make it is a puzzle game. I haven't seen any of the Saw films but I don't think that there should be any combat.

It looks like an Escape game with just a gross theme. I wouldn't waste my money on it-go over to addictinggames.com and play their Escape games for free.

Is it coming out for DS or Wii? "Notice how I use the stylus to cut off my own foot."

Lame.

I agree. It's a video game about SAW, the devs should be pulled from the charles manson fan club, starved, pushed further into insanity, then be unleashed to create traps.

Movie license games have been discussed on several threads not too far ago. Search for them and you'll find a lot more good license games. Just for example: Star Wars anything, Lego anything, Riddick, Aliens vs Predator.

I wouldn't say I LIKE the films but I don't DISLIKE them either; I've seen all 5.
There is no real way this game is going to be good.

Ah but therein lies the trick. Most of those aren't solely "movie" licenses. They're entire franchises that go far beyond the cinema. Star Wars, Alien, and Lego toys, for example, all existed before any kind of video game adaptions. Of course, the same can be said of my previous examples... oh well.
