It gave me an opportunity to spam Facebook. A friend of mine spams FB with Dr. Who...I got to spam it with a blow-by-blow replay of the reveal and how horrible it was.

Something nicer: It's going to save me a lot of money this console generation.

The mandatory integration of Kinects will make Kinect-support for games a much more lucrative option for devs, and thus might end up driving the development of motion/voice controls forward. Not to mention that, functionally, it will be capable of running all the no-doubt-awesome stuff coming out in the next however-many years.

It's just that it's no the best option for me as a consumer.

I can use it for catapult ammunition. (If I wanted to waste 600$ on a flying brick).

Edit: IMHO, Probably way more fun too.

It's saved me so much money by making me try out League of Legends as a possible alternative. Already got my Kog'Maw. ^-^

I actually like the design a lot. No, really. I'm completely serious when I say it's a pretty damn cool looking console. I mean, I sure as hell won't buy one (and I'm praying Sony is now where near as stupid as Microsoft has been), but it at least looks really nifty.

Well, back before it was confirmed that Kinect was a part of the standard hardware, I said to my friends "I will not buy the next version of the Xbox if Kinect is a part of the standard issue hardware." Now that I've heard about its other "features", I can say that the one good thing about the New Xbox is that I now have more reasons for not buying one than just my (slightly petty) hatred of motion controls.

The mandatory Kinect will also mean lots of mandatory Kinect gimmicks being crowbarred into games the don't benefit from them, due to a lack of risks to developers for implementing Kinect features. Seriously, this will happen. It always happens. I know that this is a "say something nice" thread, but I really felt that I had to point this out.

I like knowing that if I have it set up in my living room, if someone breaks into my house, I don't have to worry about anyone stealing it.

Sure, let's go with that.

I'm actually one of the few who seems to take this question seriously. Shame on you guys! ;P

I will say that the idea of a unified technology platform, a la Windows 8, Phone, and the XBOne, promises to bring a new level of user-friendliness and integration that has so far eluded the tech sector.

My problems with the implementation, however, far outweigh any good that can come from this.

It looks like it has a pretty nice controller. I've always thought the Xbox 360 controller was the best controller of this generation, if not of all time, and it seems that they've improved it. I'll probably get one for my PC when it comes out.
Agreed. Is it confirmed that it works on PC though? Knowing Microsoft I wouldn't be surprised if they screwed that up too and made the controller incompatible with anything else but the XBone.

Going to agree with those saying the controller, the Xbox controller has generally been the best in recent years. The triggers on the Xbone controller and the (hopefully) fixed D-pad should be good, I hope they make a PC version too. With a new wireless receiver of course, with Steams big picture it would be great.

I feel all warm and fuzzy when I look at it because it looks like a VCR and reminds me of watching videos in my childhood.

It's a concert reveal done correctly. It's not like Sony which is reluctant to show a screenshot of a corner, it's not like Nintendo which went "Oh look, the WiiU". There's some tech demos, a guy is standing around telling you how hard he hopes he can screw you in the butt, and...

...It has a Windows 8 look... But most people hate Windows 8

Since a lot of you took all the good snark, I'll go with the only positive aspect I can see. You can record your gameplay and upload it, so people can see how you beat a boss, got an achievement, or show some hilarious glitch.

I'll it's made every other gaming alternative look like a gift from heaven by comparison. Any flaw present in the WiiU, 3DS, PS4 or Vita can now be handwaved with an "at least it's not the Xbone".

I doubt there will be as many who will want to steal it.
