Say something nice about the Star Wars Prequel. If you can.

I loved everything about the prequels except for all the parts that were just Anikin moping around, though since none of that was in The Phantom Menace I think that was probably the best of the six
Furthermore, Jar-Jar Binks is an awesome character =D
please, see a doctor and a psychologist man. something traumatizing must have happen to you for you to say that. I am genuinely concerned for your well being.

60% of Episode I. It was intended as something more light-hearted and it shows, being set in a time when everything is pretty okay at the start, no galactic wars or anything. 9-year old Anakin is a lot more fun than teen Anakin, and Liam Neeson is probably the best acting job in the trilogy.

The finale was particularly impressive. A shootout in the palace's aesthetically stunning grand hall, a lightsaber duel, a ground war and a space battle all simultaneously going on at once to the tune of the excellent Duel of the Fates, each of which reaches a near defeat before turning around at the last second. Very self-contained and clean, just like A New Hope.

1: Liam Neeson
2: Ewan McGregor
3: Ian McDiarmid
4: Frank Oz
5: Samuel L. Jackson
6: Intense space battles made better by improved CGI technology
7: Good lightsaber/force duels
8: Christopher Lee

I've got more if you need them.

Ah yes cannot forget the EPIC soundtrack by John Williams.

The prequels were nowhere near as bad as bandwagoners (myself included at one time) intuit.

The early saber duels were cool. I thought the space battle in III looked ok the first time I saw it. There is a possibility that they could have been worst.

Wow, three things! I've surprised myself!

Ewan McGreggor as Obi Wan. Lush worlds and settings. Duel of the Fates.

Amidala in the Phantom Menace.

I loved episode 1 as a kid but now that I'm grown up I look back at the prequels and shudder. Everything about how I feel are covered in the Red letter Media reviews. Plus I wasn't a fan of the lightsaber fights. What was realistic sword play movements with characters I cared about were turned into flash, no tension or characters I could care about due to lazy writing. Just twirls and spins. Yoda fighting contradicts his character.

If I was to say I loved something about them was that it had some good ideas, Lucas did take cues from the expanded universe and try to include them. The worlds were alive, even if it did get too extensive at times. The music was phenomenal. And Ray Park gave Darth Maul some kick ass moves, I personally think they should have had him stick around longer and flesh him out. Instead he became Boba Fett, cool looking but very shallow.

They gave to the children of the original Star Wars generation, what Star Wars gave to the original Star Wars generation.
I was going to say something along these lines. Even for myself, who had grown up with Star Wars, getting to see a new Star Wars movie in theaters was super exciting. And whatever I think of them now, I do remember being blown away by The Phantom Menace when I first saw it.

I also agree with this quote, both the first paragraph as mentioned above, and the second. I really liked being able to see more of the Star Wars universe. Seeing some of the new worlds and people (like the Kaminoans - I really liked them) was really neat.

I liked the lightsaber battles in Ep 3....and also see how Vader become Vader.

And Ep 3 got turned into a really nice game...where they have a secret alt ending to ep 3, I liked that one more.

I can honestly say that the Prequel Trilogy has provided my entourage and myself with just as many hours worth of pure entertainment than the original trilogy ever did - just of a very different nature. Between walking home with a friend after TPM and lambasting Jar-Jar all the way, to Plinkett's reviews, to Robot Chicken, to just countless hours of straight-up bitching about the new films, they have been a ubiquitous source of relief and even surprisingly analytical fun. Thanks, George!

I don't see the problem with Jar-Jar either!

Since when is Star Wars supposed to keep a "serious streak"?

Furthermore, if young Lucas wrote the films in order (from 1 to 6, I don't know if he did, just supposing), it makes perfect sense that a character like Jar-Jar would exist in his first chapter.
