probably "Argon" and "Santa Maria" the first is easy and most of you should know it, the second was the flagship of Christopher Columbus.

Honesty is the best policy!

Barring that, the Ishimura and the Von Braun. Nothing could POSSIBLY go wrong.

Adam and Eve; the reasoning is obvious to anyone who's ever been within thirty feet of a Christian.

Absolution (its probably what we shall set out to the stars to find)
Redemption (we'll need it.)

Additionally, these would sound very awesome if you happened to be commanding them - the simple order of "Absolve/Redeem them" would be the signal for some serious fighting....

If Mankind Didn't really launch two spaceships, then why is the topic title "mankind launches two new spaceships?" Are you a games journalist in training?

also, "humankind"
HIPPY! BEAT HIM UNTIL HE CONFORMS!

Anyway. I'm going to have to go with the obvious Enterprise and for the other one, Skullcrusher. So that any species that meets it knows not to mess with us, we named a ship Skullcrusher. It is a ship that crushes skulls. They'd be scared.
And what kind of spaceship would not crush a skull? Do you know the mass of those things?

Cyberdine and Skynet, for obvious reasons.

Or Titanic and Iceberg, again, for obvious reasons.

The Borealis and The Philadelphia Experiment.

...You see where I'm going with this...

+1 Internet for the reference.
Alastair Reynolds. As to that internet, I take checks...
Ah, so sorry, the only thing I have lying around is a series of tubes.
