Zombie nurses from the original Silent Hill. ;( I still see them, occasionally, in my nightmares.

Redeads scared the living crap out of me when I was a kid. I remember first going into the grave of the royal family and seeing. At first I thought, "Yeah, I could take them," but then they screamed, and I remember running out of the room as fast as I can.

Since then, nothing really scares me in video games anymore, although if there are wasps, I'll always attack them from a distance.

When I was younger the heartbeating and red flashing in Finaly Fantsasy 7 use to scare the crap out of me, along with seeing JENOVA in the cutscene in Midgar. Not to mention Nemisis bursting through walls...

In WoW, the first time I saw an Abomination (pretty much a big fat Frankenstein's monster with arms and scythes sticking out everywhere, guts falling out, etc.) I jumped almost out of my chair. Those things GUARD the city?! We should be guarding against THEM!

From my limited experience with scary enemies, I'd have to say the Poison Headcrab Zombies from Half Life 2.

Not really scary, but the geth in Mass Effect creep me out.
Yeah, I hear ya. But even more freaky are the Husks - basically robot zombies. And the Thorian Creepers as well. Especially bad are the big hordes you find, like the mine and the derelict ship *shudders*

the psychic mutant from S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl that pulls your mind backwards and forwards in the underground facilities. I needed a spare change of underpants and a refreshing towel after that one..

And of course Alma from FEAR

any zombie that has the ability to run
Conkers bad fur day zombies? They made the most typical and disturbing zombie sounds and they move really slow, but when u get close to them they pissbolt right at you and have a burst of speed whenever you get close to them.
Deceptive little bastards.

Are you kidding? That's the best time of day!
Are you kidding? I can't fight CPs at 3 in the morning without getting scared.

Yeah, I'm a pansy to say the least.

The T-rex in Turok.
The first time I heard a grown man scream in years was when I let my brother play it.
It is terrifying. I played Doom 3, I found it lacklustre and repetitive.

Cyberdemons. The first time you run into one before you learn how they work. Pure, undiluted fear. Possibly producing yellow liquid fear.

Aside from that, the bloodsuckers in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Conveniently located in already claustrophobic, collapsing bunkers, most with little to no lighting to speak of, the only sounds the thumping of still-active machinery and the occasional howl of one of those things that spend their time lurking invisibly between where you are and where you want to go.

The only problem with these two is once you know how they work and how to kill them, the thrill is all gone.
