Oh GOD.

Still, I think the scariest thing I've ever seen in a video game was Giygas. I don't know why, but he makes me scared just at the thought. And there are only three things in the world that do that to me.
Four if you count rape/torture/general circumstantial terrors.

In Portal, just when you finish the test chambers and you're on your own. You walk through these corridors and you always have the monotone voice in your head that asks you to surrender. I don't know why but that scared the shit outta me. I had no idea what type of game Portal was and I really thought it could turn into a sort of survival horror with using Portals as you're way to escape. That and just the overall creepyness of being alone while this omnipresent voice talks to you. I was literally jumping at every corner and I had no idea wat was in store for me. Maybe it was because I played the game in one sitting from around 2:00-6:00 AM while I was tired and alone in pitch black darkness.

Also: "Fresh Meat". Then again Diablo 1 was a bit of a horror game.

Every Thief game always had one if not more horror levels, though it was never really a horror series. Most recently there's The Shalebridge Cradle from Thief: Deadly Shadows a few years back, which was probably one of the best horror levels I've ever played in a game. Brilliant.

Just listening to the 'soundtrack' gives me the creeps.

My votes going for that. My save slots filled up because of that section >.>
(I'm a very jumpy gamer)

Damn. Ninjad. A few times I suppose. Oh well, you still get a '/thread'. Scared me more than any actual 'horror' titles. Even the Abysmal Gale was creepy, but the cradle just took the cake.

Ravenholm. Nothing else. Only reason I didn't stop right there was because I wanted my damn achievement! >.<
Same here.

Word of advice for jump gamers:

Don't go to Ravenholm.

First time fighting a berserker in Gears of War. It was so fun hearing my friends squeal in fear of getting run over by one of those things :D

Not too sure why everyone is so scared of Ravonholme. I just found the level boring.

OT: I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon and say the Well in OoT. I was so young when I played that :(

I can't think of any. I don't get scared very easily, so horror sections of non horror games usually don't frighten me. In fact, the only horror games that frighten me are Condemned, Amnesia, Silent Hill and Penumbra.

The first dramatic reveal of the Flood in Halo: Combat Evolved.
It was so quiet and so moody and I was dreading walking down each corridor.

Vault 106 - Fallout 3, Mind Fuck to the max considering the games Shoot'em up nature.
I say The Dunwich Building was worse. It's full of feral ghouls (zombies). I was lightly armed, cavorting through with a mask that caused ghouls to see me as a fellow ghoul. I stumbled into a radioactive patch.

It turns out that putting on the radiation suit removes the ghoul mask. About 10 ghouls simultaneously turned towards me, hissed, and attacked. I barely survived with liberal applications of Stimpacks to myself and .44 calibre to the ghouls.

I have no idea what they were thinking in this scene.
The really creepy stuff starts happening around :50. Enjoy.
2:30 is just trippy.
What.. the.. fuck..? o_O
Yeah, that was pretty much my reaction too. Maybe the cutscene makes sense in Japanese, but I seriously doubt it.

EarthBound.

Giygas.

Paulas theme song makes you think "oh god something bad is happening" ):

Threed is pretty creepy.

but most of all, the mall in fourside.

HOLY. FUCK. the lights go out, a member of your team is kidnapped, and WAY TOO MUCH SUSPENSE after a previously extremely leisurely part of the game. cought me offguard mainly, but that partly why its so fucked up.

the part from half life 2 where dog jumps on the gunship, and you go down a hallway to hear mysterious music, and at the end of the hall is a t.v. with a picture of g-man on it, what's even weirder is the t.v. is unplugged... also those enemies from legend of zelda that stun you by screaming were pretty creepy
