I just thought of this because my friends were watching The Matrix last night, but do you guys remember the phone call scene in the first movie where his mouth starts to seal closed? HolyomgwtfbbqMILF, I still consider it the most horrifying scene I've ever seen to this day.

So I'd like to hear about the scenes in movies as a child that were not really meant to be that scary, but were horrifying to you none the less.

EDIT: Its funny I still close my eyes for half the scene it scares the crap out of me.

From The Neverending Story

Supposed to be scary, at least to an extent, though.

I cried in fear at every single Indiana Jones movie on the planet as a kid.

I especially hated the skeletons scene and anything to do with them.

From Toy Story. Saw that at a pretty young age and refused to watch Toy Story again for years. *shudders*

Dang. Ninja'd twice on Indiana Jones movies. The first one always scared me with the Ark scene, I could never watch it. That was one the only one that really scared me

Well they did that on purpose. Moving toys and dolls? That's scary within itself.

That whole scene, and when he goes underwater to an extent. Freaked me the fuck out, I used to scream for mum to fast forward through it.

That forest scene too, always terrified me :(

Yep, this and fucking Monstro. And then you got the one donkey boy who can still talk and he's crying for his mom. Pinocchio was fucking hardcore.

And in the end he becomes a real boy. Well whoopy! He's still living in a world where boys get turned into donkeys and worked to death in salt mines, and where colossal demon whales roam the sea.

Also, the Gmork from The Neverending Story

This guy mentally scarred me as a child.

Fucking this:

Also, the scene in the cave when Terrell phasered himself and made that goddamn noise as he vaporized and then Chekov collapsed and started bleeding from the ear. This is still one of the best movies ever, but when I went to bed after watching it, I always tried to keep my pillow folded around my head so that my ears were covered.

Probably a lot of things. Though my parents were always quick on the draw to tell me to cover my eyes and what not so I was spared most of wraith of modern films. HOWEVER...

In terms of childrens stuff, I saw some pretty fucked up things that scared the hell outta me. Such as that scene in the Brave Little Toaster when the Air Conditioner blows a fuse. Or anything to do with the Vacuum character Kirby because I was hella scared of Vacuum cleaners because they were noisy awful machines.

Another thing that scared the heck outta me was this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN10FnSlCTc

Nothing is scarier than that. NOTHING CAN STOP IT! NOTHING

Only thing I can remember is this. I can sort of understand why I would freak out every time this scene came on.

This, because it came out of nowhere.

This, because Fantasia, that's why. And
mostly because the "good guy" loses.

The scene in Oliver Twist...

where Nancy gets beaten to death. It really shook me as a child.

Apparently as a child - 6 years or under - I could watch horror movies without blinking an eye, but My Little Pony terrified me. I think it was this episode:

(jump to 1:40 for the SCAAAAAAARY bit)

I was weird. (Was??)
