Scorpion is very brave to make that joke in front of someone who might rip him a new one. I am of course talking about Erin.
I laughed, but for probably unrelated reasons.
See, MK9 goes all-out in terms of storytelling. It's basically Saturday-morning cartoon quality, but compared to the storylines packed by the previous MKs, it's the freaking Odyssey. The same goes for character development.
And, well, that comic makes Scorpion out to be something OTHER than consumed by rage, which is a nice change. The Scorpion section of MK9's story mode got on my nerves.
Scorpion: "RRRAAAAGGGH, YOU KILLED MY FAMILY, AAARRGH!"
Raiden: "Don't kill Bi Han, I can put in a good word for you with Chtulhu if you let him live. Uh, I mean, the Elder Gods."
Scopion: "RAAAAGH- Oh, okay."
Quan Chi: "Kill him!"
Scorpion: "Not gonna!" *insert pout*
Quan Chi: "Fine, I'll just show you stuff you should already know and that your agreement with Raiden would suggest you're capable of overcoming, but you're going to get all Emo and Hardcore on us because that's the only thing the lazy screenwriters can think of, when you're concerned."
Scorpion: "No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! RAAWR-ARGH-BLARG!" *Skeleton Face Mode, activate*
