I read recently that the Scottish National Party are proposing a referendum on Scottish independence from the United Kingdom. I was wondering if anyone had any views on the situation?
I'm not entirely sure, but I wouldn't say so.Pandalisk said:What currency would they use?

It's rare that you get to see both sides of an argument without flaming. At least, on the internet. And sometimes in real life.MaxTheReaper said:chrisdibs said:speaking as an englishman, i don't want them. they contribute virtually nothing outside of shit football teams, they want independence and hate us anyway. why should we pay for them when they don't want to be part of the UK?

We, Scotland, as a country, could probably survive as a wholly seperate nation, but the general feeling is that there's just no point. It wouldn't be better or worse, just different. On the other hand, it would mean that the English would stop stealing all our oil and electricity. Possibly.
This is interesting.
It's rare you get to see both sides of the argument so close together.
way to break the stereotype my man and by the way,the reason our football teams are shit is because we don't have ridiculous amounts of money. If Sky collapsed tommorow the premier league would crumple with it.chrisdibs said:speaking as an englishman, i don't want them. they contribute virtually nothing outside of shit football teams, they want independence and hate us anyway. why should we pay for them when they don't want to be part of the UK?

This is the attitude that lets there moron nationalists gain support, contribute nothing? Our north Sea oil revenues per year are one of the biggest contributors to the uk you want to talk tax voids all we have to do is point to that old hag we shill out year after year for and all she amounts to is a glorified figurehad. And what do you expect we count for around what 8% of the countries population? yet you expect us to match a country nearly eight times our size financially? And lets not talk about whos taking money from whome which part of this island has the largest percentage of illegal immigrants? Its not even bloody comparible.chrisdibs said:speaking as an englishman, i don't want them. they contribute virtually nothing outside of shit football teams, they want independence and hate us anyway. why should we pay for them when they don't want to be part of the UK?

I think so. By the way, quote people if you want them to reply, otherwise they're likely to miss it (like I nearly did).Milford Cubicle said:Berwick?
