I bought my PS3, in '08, thinking that Gran Turismo 5 would be out soon and, obviously, it took a while longer than predicted to be released. I understand that that's often the way of things so.. fine. When I was finally able to buy it, I did so thinking that my fiance` and I would be able to race. As it turned out, the second player controller refused to let me do some of the little things like steer or accelerate, though I was able to flash the headlights - at least, if my opponent turned around on the course and was about to collide with me head on, I could signal the imminent danger. The odd thing there was that both controllers worked properly on our other PS3. The biggest flip-off from Polyphony came in the form of their quiet refusal to fully support the $300 Logitech G27 wheel that I bought and built a stand for. While I can steer, accelerate, shift, and brake, there is no way to put the car into reverse, no way to remap ANY buttons, and no realistic way to use the E-brake - therefore, no drift-racing for me. The whole experience is extremely frustrating and disappointing, considering how much potential for enjoyment the game has.
I'm wondering if anyone has any similar stories, optimism, or tips.
