I agree that he should be punished with jailing or a hefty fine but maybe save some of your uh, "creative" punishments for the people who have commited murder or something a little more extreme.

I dunno, adding the whole "Kids with cancer" line was what got to me. Exploiting someone else's sympathy to those ill children (in this case, of just wanting to give them game consoles, apparently) and just using that as your basis for your robbery just sounds kinda wrong. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.

You'd actually be amazed how often this happens. When I was in hospital I heard how a few doors down someone just walked into the sick kids room, unscrewed the tv from the wall and walked out with it. No one said a thing because they believed no one would steal from a sick childrens hospital in the middle of the day.

How wrong they are.

Why is there always one person who thinks that nobody cares about any other kind of thing in a category just because people are staying on topic? The article clearly states these kids have cancer, so people shouldn't be expected to be saying "Dammit I hate when scumbags steal from kids who have AIDS/lukemia/etc!" should they? I love seeing these threads, where a lot of members of the forum get so mad that they'd like nothing better than to see a million types of torture inflicted on those who perpetrated the dark deed described by the first post.

Get real, people. I'm pretty confident that this guy stealing some video game consoles won't make the top-100 list of bad things that happened that particular day. No need to get so indignant and worked up about it.
