Most of the worlds cancer kids dont have anything similar even to begin with and im sure they dont suffer any more or less cause of that. There is like 1000 more important things cancer patients need - good medications, good doctors, healthy food, people who love and care about them and so on and on.

Whining about some missing game consols is beyond me. Its just ... unbeliveble. You guys are total morons or you really dont have ability to see bigger picture.
Your opinion is purely based on your iill-concieved perception of human suffering and especially how children deal with illness, as you have never worked in a hospital or interacted with seriously ill kids.

Yeah, sorry, probably should have phrased that as a question or something, but I just did not believe it necessary.

I am going to give this guy the benefit of a doubt and assume that he stole those consoles not knowing they were for kids with cancer. It isn't mentioned in the article that the thief had any clue that the consoles were used by young cancer patients. If he did know, he deserves every bad thing done to him stated in this thread, but I think everyone is jumping the gun in assuming this man knowingly and willingly stole from cancer kids. He probably didn't think that far ahead like most criminals.

C'mon Police, the internet expects an arrest, and you know what, if you wanna give the guy a few extra whacks with the ol' nightstick, I don't think anyone would blame you.

You're saying that stealing consoles from a kids hospital is not that bad, because it's just stuff, completely disregarding and missing the point or the impact of the act, yet you accuse others of not seeing the bigger picture?! When you can't get past "it's a console, derp de-derp"?!
Exactly, game consoles are just stuff you can easily replace with books or boardgames. You know - other stuff!

And one more thing, im sure those consoles didnt had any "CANCER KIDS STUFF" labels on. So that poor bastard is just a thief, like moron who stole my car stereo. I dont want to beat him up because of that. Its just stuff, i bought new. And better.

I clearly have a more rational mind than most people on this thread.
My, aren't we in love with ourselves?
I just like to look at all sides of a situation and try construct arguments without insulting the opposition. It's a possibility that this guy stole to pay off his loan shark/buy crack ect, but also, there's the other side of the coin. There are altruistic reasons for stealing. I never said he shouldn't be punished, I just think all the cruel and unusual punishments people are suggesting seem a little out there.
Not to get into a philosophical debate, but at marketing school, we were given a problem to discuss: a poor man breaks into a pharmacy to steal medication for his sick wife. The robbery goes wrong, and he ends up shooting a pharmacist. Should he go to jail? There is no right answer (yes, it's one of "those" exercises), but the bottom line is, the guy is still dead.

The guy is a stain on the human race. Extenuating circumstances are a matter for the judge to decide on, when applying the penalty. But the crime itself is despicable.

Feel pissed? Want to do something about it? Donate to Child's Play and make sure this and other hospitals have these resources for sick kids!
I don't have much money since I'm a student. I currently don't have a VISA card. I don't have a job or any solid source of income. I got a lot of stuff I need for my apartment. Still I am going to donate when I get my VISA card though I can't afford much.

*sigh* And he's black...

You know, there should be two levels of hell this guy is sent to:

1. Stealing from sick kids.
2. Perpetuating negative racial stereotypes.
My thoughts summed up too. He's a real asshole for making us see the negative stereotype on top of doing something this horrible. Next he'll probably rob a blind man or break into a deaf man's house. This just sickens me and I that takes a lot.

Yeah, let me state the obvious here: you are NOT those kids.

And I'm done arguing with you. It's easier to bang nails with my forehead. Less painful, too. Going to your level feels like wadding neck-deep in filth. I'm just glad I don't live in whatever dream-fueled Utopia you live on.

You know what? Lets skip the trial and just go to the part where we rip his balls off. Sound pretty fair, don't you think?

Agreed. And that's never the point I was arguing. Thanks for being civil. I tip my hat to you, good sir.
Likewise, good sir. Tea and biscuits in the smoke room?

I thought thieves mainly stole from the rich who didn't need all this stuff. God damn, how wrong was I.

This is why I'm starting to lose hope in humanity.

The red health bars show how low that is.

It keeps happening!

When they find him, please demolish him with never ending torture and anguish and pain and suffering and hell.

The fact you're willing to give while having little says outstanding things about your character. Even so, be careful not to dig yourself into any financial trouble.

"I'm done with this. Get on your knees, apologise and become a flagellant in penitence or I'll cut your balls off and sell 'em to a Krogan!"

OT: This guy's nasty. I hope the police catch him and he gets a long jail sentence (I do think killing/torturing him is going a bit too far, but stealing from sick kids IS low).

Yeah, i am the other 95% of worlds cancer kids who dont have game consoles or many other comforts only US can provide. Im sure your kids can manage couple of days without videogames and without lynching a black man.
